yeah, ugh!

Most of the time I'll either get the cr.MP or cr.MK, or just the shoryuken. I just can't get the timing right (when I should press that first button while going through the DP motions.)
On the plus side, throwing in another MP in front of his MP, HP, HK target combo is really easy with a tiny bit of practice

I'm terrible at this game, stop matching me up against people who aren't. It takes every bit of fun out of this for me.

Try this instead of getting mad (if you do when you lose) is before returning to the menu or whatever to search for a new match, visualize the match you just played and try to think of just one thing you did wrong or would like to improve the next time you play. Don't focus on too many mistakes, pick one and work on it. Make it something simple. Like block more on wake up, or punish better, jump less, try to remain calm under pressure etc etc.

See then if playing against better people helps you become better too! Good luck.

Which is the most useless vskill? That? R Mika's? Chun Li's? I haven't found a decent use for Chun Li's. Too slow for fireballs (you need ToolAssisted-level reactions for this shit to be useful) and has zero priority. I like doing it for funsies but it's not good.

I've seen Chun's used for anti-air and to switch up her jump arc. I think Mika's can be used to parry fireballs with a damage buff to her grabs. Vega's seems like a version of aurora spin edge that's -100 on block.

I'd rather see his claw switch as his v-skill given how key it is to how he plays now.

Yes and no. Straight up disconnects don't seem to be happening, but matchmaking time is still sorry and match reporting is flakey. You also might end up logged in to someone else's account after a game. :P

WHOA WHAT?!

Every match = failed to send results.. so yeah playing ranked is useless, but the rest? no lag, no DC at all

That's shitty but good I can do private matches when I get off work.

Capcom needs to do something about the disconnects. Fought 2 guys today with 10+ win streak only to have them disconnect when I beat them. Fuck those guys.

Wanted to share this as I've been trying out some reshade effects using PhilGPT's preset. He posted some meaty looking screencaps so I had to find out what he did! So I got it working and posted some in-game videos below. I use a GTX 970, 1080p with max settings and vsync off. If the videos look off, remember your monitor type and settings, also in-game brightness settings will contribute to how the effect and colors appear. It definitely makes the game darker and more 'realistic' looking than cartoonish.

Videos:
Bustling Side Street Stage (Normal)
Bustling Side Street Stage (ReShade)

Four Kings Stage (Normal)
Four Kings Stage (ReShade)*

*There is a weird effect when recording, it looks like the framerate drops and the game lags but this occurs only on the recording side. Not sure why. But as you can see the FPS doesn't dip.

How To:
Download: SFV ReShade Preset (By PhilGPT)
Install: Extract files to SteamsteamappscommonStreetFighterVStreetFighterVBinariesWin64
Unistall: Delete all files that were added (easy!)

Looks great but kills my frame rate! Damn.

I just went against someone who was level 136 with a 196 LP Nash. Guessing that must have been a kind of mistake.

I don't think they use the levels as the barometers for matchmaking. Those are mostly gained through singleplayer. Hell I'm at level 190 just from doing survival with a ton of characters.

Man that Mike Ross video from a couple of days ago is the funniest shit I've seen in ages. Its so good it almost looks scripted (I mean, ranked is random so it couldn't be).

WHOA WHAT?!

Yep. After a weird game I tabbed out to gripe. When I went back to the game I dropped back to the menu instead of requeueing and I had someone else's name, fight money, levels, and stats. Seen a couple other mentions of this happening in here too. Capcom's system is seriously fuckeroo'd.

In happier news, Daigo's stream is going!
I hope he'll actually get to play :x

Fang's standing mk as a spaced anti-air is a life changer. Thanks to whomever told me about that. Still can't get his crouching HP to work for close anti-airs, but I'm figuring it out.

There is no way I'm playing normal or hard survival mode to unlock colors. It takes WAY too long.

I NEED the Hard mode colors for Mika (I don't even know what they are). The struggle continues.

I just beat up and perfected a Ryu with the name "DC_MASTER," and he didn't even disconnect. Commendable.

Yeah I know. I laughed so much and had a great time watching him. I hope he streams again soon.

The best tactic is seriously baiting. Bait 'em then unleash on 'em. A Ryu user thought he was gonna dp the heck outta me as I was playing as Cammy. After he got used to dping me for a few times, I unleashed. I kept hitting him nonstop. I threw him down, kept running at him as if I was clueless then knocked him down again. Used my V-skil on him and I ALMOST won but he panicked and used his Hadoken at the last second before I won the match. It was intense.

I saw that live, it was very entertaining and made my night better after losing a bunch.

Question for you pro-status GAFers

Should I wait for my stick to arrive before playing or jump right in with a controller? I haven't played SF in a looong time and would like to get into it again, but I'm scared of jumping in and getting used to a controller. On the other hand, my wife is sick and I'm bored and want to play something.

Ha! I got to the 26th fight then lost on normal. I don't think I could beat it even if I wanted to. :(

GGs novum, i'm guessing its the first SF game you played?

I can give you some tips:

- I've never seen you use Ken's insane dp! Use it more.. as an AA, sometimes on wakeup to mix things up when it looks like i'll come and grab or attack, etc. Obviously if you have trouble doing ti then you should practice execution in training mode

- You jump too much

- You had trouble punishing ( ex: I would do a spinning bird kick, you'd block it all and instead of punishing you'd stand there blocking) you could at least sweep to get me down and pressure me ( but tbh its normal, my friend is a newbie and he has trouble punishing my unsafe moves too)

- Sometimes you wouldnt even block my stuff ( ex: i,d use legs then cr.lp, it wouldn't combo but it hit you anyways because you were not holding back)

Just keep practicing and it will all come together

It's taking me 5+ minutes to find a match. I don't understand. I can queue up for LoL at 3 in the morning and find 9 other people to play with in under a minute. Why is this shit so slow.

Huh. I've just been spending my time in Survival mode and failing; I had no idea levels could get that inflated this quickly.

Yeah, my player level is 197... most of what I've done online is lose. I've done all the story, all characters on Easy Survival and spent time bashing my head against normal.

The tournament LI Joe just hosted was SUPER hype. Man, that was awesome. I am actually considering playing with Bison a little...

He is so cool in this game...

This game is so damn phenomenal.

Is it just me or is the window to actually punish blocked moves smaller in this game than 4? I feel like most of the time I fully block a special and try to punish, I just get caught with a LP or LK because my opponent is mashing it. I felt like the window was much larger in 4.
