Having horrible luck. Finally get a win after a long lose streak then match results fail to send to servers and then a rage quitter while I was finishing my DP for the win.

Saturday night SFV is some infuriating shit, man. Here I go thinking I can go from 1700LP to 2K, but nope. Rashids, Chun-Li's and Nash's, oh my!

Fuck survival btw. I blame it for ruining my mood after getting killed at round 34 twice. Barely managed to get back to 1500LP by ending the nine win streak of a Chun literally named 009'r. That shit was glorious. All this bullshit almost has me wishing for more Ryu and Ken players to come back, but those guys were completely gone for some reason.

Virtua Fighter does the the pick the fighter first thing also irrc. And that loaded fast.

If sfv didnt have molasses loading times. It would be sweet. Sometimes i do wish i could swap colors without going back to battle settings.

The load times aren't that bad, the issue is that the servers are still shitty, so it can take ages for the game to send the results to the server. When it's working right (I've only had it happen a few times), load times are pretty quick.

Quick question, is Necalli's command grab just worthless? I'm wondering if theres even a point to practicing it.

Nah. Command throws are always dangerous on people's wakeup. You can also threaten to go back into command throw after a reset from EX command throw or off the TC corner reset.

Yea. Im lumping the together. Ima start calling them screen transition times.

Gotta love how scared people are of PC hacks.

It's not like the game is $60 and tied to your account so getting banned is expensive (or easy to spot with replays visible to anybody)

How's it better than just doing regular grab though? I mean besides doing a piddly 10-20 points of damage more?

Speaking of command grabs, what is the difference between the dfferent strengths? Frame data shows all versions of command throws have the same startup, so what is the advantage light command grabs have over heavy ones to make up for the decrease in damage?

Getting a "Failed to create Battle Lounge" message. Anyone else getting this? Pretty terrible

Edit: Let me create one, but then got disconnected

I believe it's range. Light command grabs can be done farther away.

It's almost always range. Low damage = high range

Just had the absolute worst match ever in this game. The lag was something that was literally Gears of War 2 level, no fucking joke. My Ryu vs a Mika and I won but I felt bad because the lag was unreal. Both of us were literally crouched for most of the match and for the first time ever in a SF game, something happened that I've never seen. I started the motion for his Shinkuu and Mika blocked it, again she blocked it.

The lag was bad that entire exchange didn't register and my meter was completely full. Afterwards I hit her with another Shinku and won. Just brutal. Just now I had another match against a Necalli which had more bad lag. Last night I didn't have any but now I'm seeing it everywhere. Yeah, gotta stay casual tonight.

The grab is slow enough that I figure anyone trying to tech me is probably going to beat me to the punch. At least I end up in neutral with the regular grab.

You can command grab out of throw range (at least LP and probably MP), and you can do the command throw meaty so it is active before a throw would even come out. The threat alone is a good conditioning tool to pressure people into neutral jump or reversal wakeups.

Goddamn that was so funny

Also, I finally was able to fight enough people that didn't rage quit and Capcom's servers actually sent enough match results that I made it to silver. The amount of points I've probably missed out on due to match results not being sent and rage quitters has to be 1000+

I don't even know why I was trying to get to silver with the game in the state that it's in. I don't know if I have it in me to go for gold.

SFV is around 100k in Steamspy. Certainly doesn't seem like bad numbers at all. IIRC, MKX was at around 120-130k in the same time frame.

It also disapeared from the top 10 faster than any triple A game I can remember.

Im sure it will be fine if it gets a good deal in the summer sale, by then the new modes will be in, new characters will be out and online will be fixed (right? Lol >_<) so it should get a nice bump. But I expect grim times ahead the next few months

It's pretty tiresome. I've been gaming on PC in some capacity for two decades, and I've yet to encounter this bizarre epidemic of cheating that people are so embarrassingly desperate to believe in. Encountering an actual cheater is such a rarity you forget any really exist. There sure are plenty of scrubs out there calling decent players cheaters though. I get hackusations and even server bans and I'm not even good at anything. Yay for willful ignorance and fragile egos.

The Daigo and Friends stream is fun, even if I can't understand anything. :x

Is this even an AAA game? The franchise may be huge but I don't know if the budget was.

The only game people cheat at regularly is CS. There's certainly not gonna be some mass cheating in a fighting game.

Changed the main menu song to Mika's theme and I feel way better. Barely get to hear it 'cause I rarely face any.

Edit: I'm curious how the skill level between the leagues will feel once things have settled more. For now, I feel like the "Bronze" name going until 2k LP is too long—coming from SCII—but that might work out once the more skilled players have gotten more LP.

I guess i could see that, but I have to say this might be the worst command grab I've come across. Really don't get why its not as good as laura's, which has decent damage at least. I'm holding out hope it gets buffed at some point.
I mean, i love quasi grapplers! But you can't really call Necalli that at this point.

Any tips for dealing with Laura's pressure? I got wrecked against one in a battle lounge. I'm thinking patience might be the key (I tend to get overzealous with cr.mp as Ryu) but maybe there's a trick that I don't know....better yet is anyone a ~1000 lp Laura on here?

This thirty title trophy pisses me off. I can't play any characters worth a damn and keep losing against scrubs in ranked. Have to win at least one match to get a title for each char. =/

Armor moves blow up her fireball. And a lot of Laura's think doing command grab after a shoulder is guaranteed.

You are mistaken. That command grab is scary. If you had watched the finals of the LI Joe tournament today you would have seen how dangerous it is for a character like Necalli to have a command grab.

Super basic question: should I be trying to link all my pokes into stuff, or only if I have an opening? For instance, ryu can link cr.MK into DP. However, it seems incredibly difficult to hit with CR.mk, confirm it connected, then input the DP, when this seems only possible by pressing CR.mk as I am doing the DP motion. Am I thinking about this incorrectly?
