Spam Cr. MK - QCF HK, make sure you hit confirm MK or you're going to die. Get stun and go nuts.

Or Spin Knuckle, Standing HP, QCF HK.
That's how I got to 28 in the first place :p

I'm just absolutely dogshit at blocking so once the rounds hit ~26 and the AI goes on the offensive I get torn up.

Anyone else getting a lot of errors for online ranked before the vs screen comes up? I just got home, played one match online and then the next 5 have DCed before the match started. I'm finding matches every 10 seconds, but none of them are going through.

All these posts by new players getting better is super discouraging lol. I see what I'm doing wrong but I just can't get myself to fix issues in actual matches

One thing I did was watch replays of my ranked matches. It's really easy to see areas of improvement when you can sit back and watch that way. Even if you think you know what's wrong, this can open your eyes to other areas you can improve.

Other than that it's just practice, practice, practice. Start with some easy stuff and slowly work up from there. Focus on timing and mix ups and reading your opponent. I feel that smart use of normals, throws and special moves (no combos) can get you to silver. Combos are important, but memorizing them isn't gonna help if you don't know when to pull them off or how to read and counter your opponent.

Just got the game. Practically a total noon when it comes to fighting games. I played a few hours of vs. with my buddy and had a lot of fun and then did a casual match and won surprisingly. I haven't been learning combos at all though. Mostly trying to focus on basic moves, V trigger, and blocking, and not jumping at the moment lol. V reversals seem kinda hard to do unless you're actively thinking about the buttons you have to do. And I have no idea what the EX bar is or how to use it since the tutorial didn't mention it, nor the bar under your health.

Overall it's fun so far, and I really like the lack of gimmicky stuff I was getting tired of in Injustice, but the lack of content is real. Small roster, small amount of modes, and even a small amount of stages. Hopefully with all the criticisms there will be plenty of updates and it will be a Driveclub situation where they just go HAM on the content, as the core mechanics are clearly solid already.

My fighting ID is FancyClown, and PSN is Gray2 if anyone wants to wreck me some time.
Do you want to play in a bit? My ID is Charlie_JP and PSN is charlie_lun

I suck, and have only won 1 out of maybe 20 or so online matches. I don't think I will wreck you! haha.

I'll be on in 15 minutes or so.

Two goals for today:

01) Complete Story mode with all characters.
02) Complete Survival Easy with all characters.

And then I'll play straight online matches to get the flow of it.

Fuck Bison. Fuck survival.

Survival confuses the hell out of me. I just went through normal survival twice in a row, with Cammy, to get that set of colors for both outfits. The first time through, I destroyed the CPU and ended it with a perfect on Bison. The second time through, I was close to losing more than half my lifebar even in some early rounds and barely managed to take out Bison on fight #30. Don't know if I'm gonna be able to stand the next levels...not even the difficulty so much as sitting there for 50 and 100 matches. Would rather be playing online.

Okay, woke up, it's 7 in the morning, and I am at page 331 of this thread. Which means there's about 25 pages to read up on. I switched to Ryu for a little time, and finished watching the "Official Character Guide for Ryu", so I know his basics but yet my brain decides to freeze in an actual match. I got five casual online matches with him, lost them all, so I decided to share my fourth fight on my Youtube. I know I need to defend more, yet I think I'm getting better at this aspect, and need to be a little more patient. Please give feedback.

On another note, I just got my FIRST EVER WIN IN A STREET FIGHTER game ever. Any Street Fighter game. It was a casual online match, and I could see I were up against a super scrub but whatever, I take the win! And my first win at that. This time I were playing Charlie Nash, and I know I didn't use any meter in this match, but do you have any other feedback I can take with me? I shared that video on my Youtube here.

I can feel that I am not hitting the commands right sometimes. When I consistently do a light punch, it's because I'm trying to do a grab. If I'm punching downward, it's because I tried do a CA. And failed at both. Also, I think it'll help me, if I invest in a Fighting Commander 4, especially for those v-reversals.

Anyway, FIRST EVER WIN EVER!!!

Thanks for posting this. I need to watch some Ryu and Chun Li tutorials.

I'm headed to bed, but I'll add you tomorrow and we can fight some time 💪

If you're only doing it for the colors, Hell doesn't give out any as far as I'm aware. Only a title. So you "only" need to deal with the 50 matches of hard.

50 matches per outfit, per character. Ugh. LOL.

I hope the colors pop up in the shop next month. I'd rather just use fight money to unlock them.

Then that wouldn't be much of a survival mode.

I can get to Necali and Bison just find with cammy.

getting to lvl 30 and just getting completely wrecked is ....demoralizing.

It feels like homework. Playing ST on hardest is more fun honestly.

I came to this realization day one. Did easy for my mains, never touched it again. Ain't nobody got time for that.

That's what a smart person would have done.

It's definitely a waste of time, but I want a certain color for Ken on Hard mode which is kicking my ass, but I can do Hell. Lol

plus I want the trophy

Godspeed sir. May you keep your hair and your controller/stick functional. Unless that shit unlocks omega holy rugal I will never touch hell.

Here's some clean 1080p images of some of the characters from Story Mode.

So Cammy can do some pretty awesome things from her standing jab.

Jab into target combo

counterhit jab into fierce

Low jab, low jab, HK spiral arrow

Ch low jab to low mp

The EX bar is used to do EX moves and Super moves. EX moves are performed the same way as normal special moves, but you press two punches or two kicks instead of just one. They have improved properties like more damage, faster speed, or invincibility. If you have a full meter you can do a super move, which does a bunch of damage but uses up the entire thing. Most of the characters can combo into their supers, but generally speaking its usually a more efficient use of your EX meter to use it on EX special moves.

The meter below the life bar is a stun meter. As you hit enemies, it fills up. If it fills up all the way they are stunned, which lets you get in a free hit (so you should use that opportunity to do the most damage you can). The meter will go down if you go a second or two without attacking them, though, so keep the pressure on when you've built it up.

ahhh great day of grinding ranked. Matchmaking was much better for me today, I was getting matches.. pretty quick? Not SFIV quick, but much better than the first few days.

I am loving Bison, this is by far the most fun Bison to play ever.

Arent Alex or Urien in any of the story prologues? Weird that they are in season one then compared to Oro or Viper

Urien isnt going to rip the suit in V is he? Too hot for 2016 ;_;
