Yeah, I never developed the habit of following up whiffs with srk, fortunately, though I wake up with L tatsu way more than I should. I've also started using light srk as a frame trap more often which is probably the opposite of what I should be doing if I want to prune the stupidity from my gameplay.

Also I formally apologize for throwing a full screen h. tatsu in V trigger and following up with l.srk, possibly two of them. That's goofy shit I usually reserve for randoms in casuals but sometimes my brain just makes me do these things.

That l.tatsu is pretty risky considering it is -8 but then again I constantly got hit by it and didn't really punish it either. Just keep it. Also don't apologize fullscreen tatsus into srk. When you are given such dumb tools why not embrace it? Stealing turns is a legit thing.

If Steam Charts is to be believed, then the SFV player base is still up compared to before the new CFN was released. And I'd expect it to see another bump when the next character is released.

Tekken's competition is a game whose main selling point is a state-of-the-art titty engine and a corpse of a franchise which only really exists now to lend its characters to the aforementioned titty engine game.

Well that's the thing the 3D fighters slot has been empty for While and T7 will fill that void, and if it's successful i think we will see other 3D fighting games coming back kinda like how we are seeing this new come back for 2D fighting games.

Man, thought I was over this, but I had one of those days where it was just loss after loss again. Hate how this happens to me sometimes. The frustrating part is that I never really understand why it's happening, and I try to play like I usually do and try to get a momentum going, but it all just collapses repeatedly.

No matter how good you get, there is always an element of guess work to be done, and when you play on tilt, you probably are putting yourself in position to be on the bad end of that guessing, and your overall defense suffers when playing too aggressive.

Then just give SFV a rest for a while? You'll either get the urge to play it again, and hopefully come back with a fresh perspective (and Capcom might even have fixed stuff in the mean time ... hah!), or you won't miss it and just keep playing a game you enjoy. No kappa.



EDIT: Capcom has put up scrapped stages on CFN, and apparently the artist really liked the Kanzuki estate. The "reaction room" could have been nice:

I don't know what platform you play Tekken 7 on but I'm ready to call T7's netcode and matchmaking worse than SFV's. I'm hoping that more improvements are on the way since the game just came out.

I've heard Xbox players aren't free from problems. The PC version really is the best.

Meanwhile my PS4 will either have perfect matches or laggy ones at 4-5 bars and I'm wired af. But at the same time, whatever, both SFV and T7 produce enough good matches as of late that I'll stick with it.

Exactly, SF is gonna stay at the top unless it does something incredibly stupid.

For all that we bitch about them making this game more appealing to casuals, it seems to have a positive effect for the game as a competitive esport.

Any other game is just gonna have to vie for second place in most tournaments. Though fortuantely for Tekken, the fact that it's 3D means that it's never really gonna be "competing" with SFV as the player base is quite different.

I think the DBZ fighter might not only directly compete against MvCI, but I think it will be a heavy hitter on FGs in general, depending on how it turns out.

It has a lot going for it. Visually, it looks amazing.It's handled by ASW, so the gameplay is likely going to be tight. It's handled by ASW, so it will probably have fantastic tutorial systems. It's Dragon Ball, which is inherently a more popular brand than Street Fighter. Etc.

As a more traditional FG (so not Smash), this DBZ game could be very big in a way that even affects Street Fighter.
