Street Fighter V |OTVIIII| New Generation - Fighting Game Is Something So Great

How can I take my offline play and apply it to my online play? I wanna get to super gold damnit.

You gotta stay in that mentality of learning, you know? Like when you were playing offline you were more focused on learning and less on winning the match cause you expected yourself to lose, right?

If you can keep that focus of learning (learning the opponents' habits, learning what the opponents' reaction to move A was, etc.) you'll certainly see some improvements. At least that's how I felt after my offline play.

Play Bison, spam st.hk and EX DR.

Getting really fucking frustrated with this lately. Bronze with 600 BP and I'm combo stunned by people who look like absolute pros. So so frustrating.

It really depends on how well you understand the game, the offense can be really oppressive if you don't know when to push buttons.

I'm stuck at silver myself, but it doesn't bother me since I still need about 51 wins for the CPT mission. If I go down the rankings, I just get easier lambs for my chopping block.

On another note. Played Ranked lost and wanted a runback, obviously that guy bailed out. After that I met that guy again in Ranked and bodied him, he had the audacity to expect a runback from me, smh. Needless to say I just bailed on him too.

You haven't been doing it obnoxiously though

Skilletor and Scotia don't belong on that list btw

900 pages are just luce announcing that he's uninstalling and reinstalling the game

lol I just saw this. If you're saying I'm obnoxious you need to get off your high horse. I give credit where it's due and don't focus on wailing all the time.

I just watch SFV at EVO for the commercials.

I watch it for the commentators.

Wow is juri that low in the eyes of a pro ?

I just started using her less than a week ago and made it to ultra bronze! I just had to pass through the people who jump like nonstop and I just started to counter with standing HP ... it started to feel good :(
Juri is low in the eyes of everybody who has even the faintest idea of balance. It really is not that far off to say she's currently the worst character in the game.

Stick with her then. Top players aren't talking about tiers at your level. Right now, find the character that fits you and stick with it. Worry about tiers later.

That person suggesting the EVO viewer stats were faked by Capcom got me dying.

That wasn't as bad as that "Foward" guy insinuating middle-aged men were only flipping through the channel due to avoiding viagra commercials lmao. I was going to say:

"Yeah you're one of them. Except you don't need to avoid them".

But no point responding to flamebait. Learnt my lesson.

Wrong, pick Necalli.

In fact, we should all pick Necalli.

Gang, my friend and I played 20 odd matches of SFV a couple days ago and he suggested playing a bit of SF4, so off I got to install it again through steam and has it turns out , using 2 HRAP sticks with that game is impossible. It won't let you assign buttons on more than 1 so somebody gets left with everything being backwards.

That aside though, SF4 feels just bizarre to play after playing over an hour of 5. Everything is all slow , the animations are all stilted looking and it just felt kind of janky. Even playing some of my old faves felt off - I picked Juri and found her lacking compared to her SF5 counterpart , playing Ryu felt weird with no parry , etc. Only upside is that Poison was still fun to play.

The oddest thing for me is that last time I played some third strike and alpha 2 ? I didn't get this same sense of jank that I got playing USF4. Certainly there are things about it's gameplay that can arguably be viewed as better than 5 (you can actually use footsies for one thing) but it's not as much fun to play as 5 is. 5 isn't perfect by any means but I think once something is done to add back in some form of viable defensive play across the board (probably season 3) it will be in very good shape. I also see people clamoring for it about 8 years from now when SF6 inevitably launches... "oh man 5 was so much better than this trash".

I'll just sit back and relax while waiting for Menat to drop , hoping that she's fun to use (like Juri) but doesn't suck so much ... (like Juri). Still searching for a character I really want to main that I like everything about ... instead of just some things.

Daigo takes it from winners side. I was worried that he would start cracking after that last match, but he brought it back convincingly now. Very solid play.

Cracking up at Daigo interrupting Jiewa's EX DP with a jab before he could cancel it into V-Trigger.

I did a double take. Like WTF was that, even if you can, doesn't mean you should. Let it finish and get your punish man. Super glad he won though. He's earned a ton of points in his last 3 tournaments.

Now that we're pretty close to the end of the CPT regular season it's getting really interesting to see the race now. Daigo went from no where to being pretty likely to make it now. Strider is back in the top 32 with his win yesterday. Looking at the current standing I think anybody with at least 600 will probably get in. With the different way points are being distributed this year, I think the race in the final weeks will be even more interesting than the last couple of years final weeks.

Daigo says he wants to play as hype as possible, not as optimal as possible. I imagine there's a level of fun with that since SFV doesn't have as many ways to style as SF4 can.

That's probably why Abby is so fun too. I pulled off a wakeup parry that I had a feeling would work but I could have just blocked as well. The people around me screamed. Shit like that gets in people's heads which is awesome.

Well that would explain his play style. I've often gotten a bit frustrated watching Daigo's play. He gives up his down charge a lot to attack which has caused him to get jumped in on a lot. I'm sitting there just thinking "WTF dude, just lame it out". But if this is his philosophy and approach he wants to take in the game then so be it. I'll be rooting for him either way.
