Where are you at with the cheap Tuesday? I'm in Salt Lake City and we have it here too. I'm curious to know how many other places do it.

South Texas has it as well. There's one theater in my city that sells tickets for $4.50. The others have it at $5

He's a Ghost Rider rip-off

The old version seems like a completely different character (and yes he had his own comic):

As a reader of nighthawk, I'm okay with this.

I enjoyed it for the most part. A lot of the stories that recently came out about make sense after seeing it but it doesn't make it a bad movie and only makes me want an Ultimate Cut. DC/WB can't keep doing that to save themselves though.

Soundtrack was also pretty lit. Definitely felt like WB trying to have their own Guardians of the Galaxy right there.

Just got back after watching the movie. I'm convinced critics are never ever going to appreciate DC, it's characters and the tone the current DCEU is taking

They don't have problems with the tone, they have problems because the movies don't develop the characters, which is by far one of the most important things in comicbook movies and you can't just assume everyone knows the characters when it's literally the first film they're in

Joker was....well, I don't wanna say he was bad, but he was weiiirrrd. And not in a good way

I honestly got James Franco in Spring Breakers vibes a lot of the time

All of you asking for Bobby to come in and save us. He will look down and whisper, "No."

And dat thread title change. Who knew we would sink even lower than BvS this year?

Oh and I've been very outspoken against the 'make every movie r!' bandwagon, but this movie maybe should have been R Rated

These are the 'worst of the worst'? Most of them barely seem any worse than the dudes in my local prison

Tell me more about this character development you're talking about in recently released film(s) from the other rival comics universe

Hahaha holy shit it keeps dropping

It seems like smarter people liked this movie more than BVS, so I'll probably actually catch it on video

Just got back after watching the movie. I'm convinced critics are never ever going to appreciate DC, it's characters and the tone the current DCEU is taking. All I have for those who bashed the movie in RottTomat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EG6apxGWqw

Anyways, tonally it's not as dark and serious as BVS(which is a little disappointing) and it's not entirely over the top fun. It's somewhere in the middle. Will Smith nailed it as Deadshot, had fanboy moments seeing Batfleck in the movie during certain moments. Wish they could've gone a different route with the script, regarding who the villain has to be. One thing which is crucial for movies like this is the dialogues, and I could hardly understand what the hell Joker was saying. He was there, he looked crazy, but i couldn't understand what crazy things was he saying during his moments in the film. DC needs to hire a good dialogue writer to keep the flow going.
Yeah, unless they put out a good movie.

Hoo boy. That is a movie that somehow makes you appreciate Batman vs Superman.

At least that movie had moments in it. The editing and script was so bad, the pace just nonsensical, the boring flashbacks, the try-hard soundtrack.

Way too much dialogue that literally narrates what JUST happened.

There are scenes in this that COULD have been great if they could have controlled the editing and put a leash on the soundtrack.

"We at Warner Brothers want a movie with attitude. It's edgy, it's "in your face." You've heard the expression, "let's get busy"? Well, Suicide Squad is a movie that gets "biz-zay!" Consistently and thoroughly."

Goddamit, I had just found that one too. :(

Though I'm definitely bailing on all you bitches, as soon as if figure out how to resist the F5, that foul temptress.

Oh my, that's on a new level of bad. To be fair, it was (probably) edited by people who make trailers, not movies, which at least account for some of it.

I mean, the Nolan trilogy exists.

uh

Yes it does, Sir Nolan is god send to resurrect DC movie universe. But his universe and his story telling could never accommodate other worldly characters or characters that are effects driven, which means you still can't see some/many of the stuff that you see in comics/animated tv series/arkham games in the big screen.

This might have been brought up, but this is what Ayer had to say about the reception:

“I made the movie for real people who live in the real world. I made the movie for people who actually love movies and go and see movies.

Sounds like Snyder speaking vicariously through Ayer.

Sold out everywhere tonight, guess I am going tomorrow.

Anyways Andre's review is out; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oov84ISkzvc

Basically said the movie is better than BvS, but terrible pace and generic bad guy makes it a hot mess. He said the crew was amazing except for Enchantress who was shit thanks to link she has to main plot

I just saw it and I liked it more than BvS. It wasn't a confusing mess that made me angry. I got some giggles. I had its issues (the music and tone was all over the fucking place and some of the characters were kinda meh and the Joker was not up to par with others), but it was more straight forward and a much more entertaining experience than BvS. So I put it as okay, not great or good or bad or awful, just okay.

If someone would've told me that Man of Steel would be a better movie than BvS & Suicide Squad also review wise, I would've slapped them silly. WB just did the impossible.

Dead

well not really...yet

Snyder never said shit about the reception or critics, and certainly no bullshit about "real people" or "not for the critics"

Actually, he did say something. "It is what it is" which pretty much is as polite a way as saying "I don't give a fuck" as possible

There was no DC universe. It was just Batman.

I straight up enjoyed it. Deadshot was awesome, humour was good but movie kept it's serious tone. Joker was okay, last 30 min a bit lame and i wish it was more violent. First half a 10/10 second half a 6/10.

MoS 6.5/10
BvS 7/10
SS 8/10

For reference, Guardians of the Galaxy 9.5/10. Civil War 8/10.

You rate this the same as Civil War and rate GotG a 9.5!?!

Taste truly is subjective.

You know what, now that you mention it I think it would have helped. The movie was already too try-hard they might as well have gone full Dead Pool.

This might be one of the few times reviews talk me out of seeing a film I was interested in. I hated BvS, and I'm really not up for sitting through another mess.

The movie was just whatever to me. Really mediocre in the end. There's some good moments filtered throughout a nothing movie.

But the movie should be hanging out with Man of Steel in the 50's not hanging with BvS.

honestly i liked the movie lol there were definitely some spots that seemed weirdly edited and some story stuff that made me scratch my head but overall i enjoyed the movie.
