Rotten Tomatoes Critics Consensus: Suicide Squad boasts a talented cast and a little more humor than previous DCEU efforts, but they aren't enough to save the disappointing end result from a muddled plot, thinly written characters, and choppy directing.

Damn...

Will Smith, did you make Jaden your agent? You had hit after hit but After Earth must have taken something out of you.

Really annoyed by the way some of these popular youtubers edit their videos. Is it really that hard to just sit and talk about the movie for 6 minutes?

Yes it's very hard to do that and still maintain the same amount of subscribers. People love that kind of shit.

I mean, I didn't say any of that, so I'm unsure what it has to do with my comment.

I'm going to see it. But at Comic-Con, she was looking rough whenever Leto was involved, so I was hoping this was going to be great.

That it's coming in just okay makes me feel for her. Yes, she got paid, but she could've gotten paid elsewhere just as well. My statement was about that, nothing more, nothing less.

I think you're reading into something that doesn't exist. And maybe she's lying, but she often she talks about how empowering playing Waller felt. Can't comment on her character's role in Suicide Squad as I haven't seen yet, but who knows if it's the last she gets to play her.

As someone who liked BvS I think it really sucks that these DC movies are disappointing everyone. Even if I like Suicide Squad (I have no idea if I will, the previews look great imo but idk, I have a weird feeling I won't), it just sucks in general when some of the biggest movies of the year are huge bombs, and it sucks when a company as iconic as DC completely muddles their property in the eyes of most people.

He may be poor at improv or lack charisma so he has to think carefully and practise each line he says, that or he's following the popular YouTube formula of poorly editing a video. People love bad cuts.

She got paid, but she could've gotten paid and avoided all the Leto-in-character nonsense on another film. At least if it was a great film, you can justify it as in the service of something amazing.

Yall running with those out of context quotes or what? Because Viola was real light hearted and jokey about it in her E! interview when talking about Jared and the bullets she got. He was smart enough not to send her the weird stuff. :p He sent thoughtful gifts too as Cara and Margot have pointed out. People just like to focus on the weird ones, and if you watch the movie the condoms bit will make somewhat more sense (oh and Ayer has said they were just opened condoms and of course anyone thinking they were actually used is ridiculous). Honsetly this whole cast is weird like that. Cara snapchatted them all sitting there laughing at hardcore porn fakes of Margot Robbie that Will had on his phone and they are constantly talking in interviews about how they can't talk about some of the stuff they all did on set because it's too X-rated to talk about.

What I want to know is what kind of assholes annoys his castmates so much for so little of screentime

He's not really a fanboy. Just more....lax, I guess. It's rare that he outright trashes a movie, and tries to really find some good in most everything.

Oh so he's me

His reviews are a constant stream of talking and information, he just seems to cut out any small breaks within his talking.

I like Jahns btw, his reviews are energetic and often well argued. And from what I recall he can talk just fine for longer stretches without the jumpcutting.

They made it seem like it was Squad vs Joker...

So they did way way worse

Yea that's one of my friend's biggest complaint.

The trailer made Joker seems more involved in the story than he is, whereas he is really nothing more than a glorified cameo.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
So, what are the chances that we get another Ultimate Cut?

I have to imagine sales of the Batman v Superman Ultimate Cut were really good. Even though I'm 90% sure the theatrical cut of Suicide Squad is Ayer's definitive cut, wouldn't shock me if DC threw some more footage on there for home release. People would bite.

I do know. It's pass/fail and if it's below a score threshold it's rotten even if the score itself wasn't that low. It still doesn't invalidate that BvS was more like a "60 percenter (give or take X percent)" and I'm betting this one is in the same boat. It really sucks because it makes a movie look worse than it actually is.

I find it really confusing when people say that a movie should be a certain % on RT. That makes no sense. It's a percentage of reviewers who thought the film was good. So you're saying it felt like more critics should have liked it?

I can just about see complaining about Metacritic because that's a single condensed score out of 100. But RT is a literal 'amount of people who liked it'.

Still funny how quickly the BvS UC was announced.

Had to be a record, right?

Well, the obvious reality is that Snyder delivered a 3hour movie and the studio mandated that he cut it so they could get the requisite number of weekend screenings in.

No way would he get final cut on such a big project without the suits' say-so, and he's not dumb enough to publicly complain about having to do it and sabotage his position helming Justice League.
