As matt said, the scariest thing about the babadook is that it moves at a lower frame rate than everything else in the movie.
Its a psychological horror, the creature design isn't what is supposed to scare you.

From what I understand, Korra was only meant to be 1 season. However nickelodean wanted 3 more, but the creators didn't want to do it.
