Yeah, it's fine now.

It's interesting to see you play Little Mac after playing a bunch of zoning characters!

yea I like the play style but I couldn't pass the chance to main little mac ggs

edit: yes I main ness since n64

The game should force you to perform a connection quality test before you're allowed to connect online. This is the most disgustingly poor system for an online game I've ever seen in my entire life. The match I'm in right now is literally so laggy that I'm typing this message WHILE the match is going on. And do you know what the best part is? You get banned from Wi-fi if you turn the 3DS off to escape from an unplayable match. Whoever thought this was a good idea clearly didn't take lag into consideration.

1-step at at time. Eventually, Nintendo will get there...

JPN devs rarely do because they're based in such a small country.

"We're in Tokyo... they're in Kyoto! That's crazy!"

Crit equipment, focus on attack, heavy characters so the defense loss isn't too bad

Thanks. I will try with Bowser using nothing but attack equipment. I get the feeling I'm going to die a ton, still, though. I can almost never avoid Master Core's attacks.

Edit:
Spam Rock Smash with Charizard, that's how I did it.

I've never been able to use Rock Smash effectively. Will that even connect considering Master Core is so high up?

No you have to jump and use it against all his forms expect the 4 legged one. You also have to be right next to him every time you use it so all the rock shards hit. If you do it properly and dodge some of his moves it should take 15 seconds or less to beat each form, maybe even less with custom equipment on.

Alright thanks, I'll give that a shot. If I can avoid the 4 legged form from using the background-to-foreground rushing attack and the sword form from using the charged slash attack, I should be fine. I don't think I've ever been able to avoid either attack without a TON of luck.

I was going to ask, is there not a way to do this? I've got a couple of replays I think are funny and wouldn't mind showing them off xD

Can't upload our replays not even from a SD Card reader it seems. Since I was told they aren't in any actual format. The game just recreates the battle. We need to either make a recording off another device or go the expensive route and get that 3DS capture card thing.

Can someone give me some tips on how to get in/punish with grabs? I keep whiffing them. Always seems like they can roll away at the last moment and punish me for trying to go for it, so I need to know if I'm missing something important here.

Press your grab button while you are still shielding. If they are right next to you, you will grab them.

Well, it's something you do to punish defensive options or tag on the end of a combo if you can rather than out of the blue :3
For example, if your opponent knows you like to do dash attacks and starts shielding them rather than trying to roll away then they're basically 'primed' for you to start doing running grabs on (or if you want to be a bit safer, shield grabs) :p

Likewise, if someone is rolling you can often just dash to where they'll stop and grab them just as they come out of it :D

Link's bow doesnt work against me
it's hilarious seeing them slowly realize(usually after the 2nd stock) that their boomrang+bow-athon isn't working. they then try to spam bombs at me. works better than the bow but lmao

The bow works against anyone if the Link player thinks and plays well rather than Boomerang -> Bow -> Boomerang -> Bow -> dash attack. It's how you use the items, there isn't an attack that you can have just "not work."

Not excusing Smash 4's net code, but did you ever play Brawl?

How many characters do most of you usually play? The characters are a lot more fun to play in previous games for the most part, so I don't bother to stick with one character. Smash Bros isn't a game I want to take seriously enough to get mad at.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Charizard strategy isn't going to work. I can't get past the second mission on 9.0.
I used Ganondorf, no customs/equips. Charged/slightly charged upsmashes got me past Master Core, as well as tight dodging.

I'm a character specialist in most games, but in Smash I tend to have a couple pocket characters. I main Lucario/Ike, and have a backup Falco/Villager.

Little Mac and no one else.
Pac-man and Rosaluma are usually who I swap to if I feel like swapping in more casual play, though. If I were to pick anyone up after Little Mac, it'd probably be Pac-man.

Unfortunately, I'm awful with Ganondorf so I don't think that will work for me either. I can't beat it with him on anything higher than 3.0.

Edit: I was wrong about Charizard. I actually can't beat the first stage.

Second Edit: And now I'm completely out of money after losing about 20 times in a row. Any hints on how to get money quickly?

For Smash, I like playing as multiple ones, though for most serious matches, I stick with my mains of Shulk, Link and Greninja. I do play as Pikachu/Robin/Lucina/Ike/Lucario for funsies on the side though.

Facing Little Mac is so boring in 1v1. You pretty much have to bait the player and guard and punish with a fast attack or a grab. To either do damage or engage in in a off the stage air battle. Ugh.

I think its pretty fun and really intense going against Little Mac, personally. But eh. Only characters I find boring to play as are spacing ones. I just don't fjnd that much fun.

I was fighting a Rosalina with Dedede. I struggled and put up a good fight but I still lost. It's difficult to fight against what essentially is a puppetmaster. And the Gravitational Pull move just erases gordo's from existence.

It can be really frustrating when the only people I want to play as are Dedede and Bowser.

Mega Man and Link are my top contenders and Dark Pit and Wii Fit Trainer are secondary. I also keep Toon Link and Pit in the wings (ha).

Now, I'm free for anyone to challenge me for online matches.

I've finally done it. I finally 100% Smash 3DS without using a single golden hammer. It's hard to believe that it took me a month to finish everything in Smash 3DS. Since I'm done with single content, so I have more free time to focusing on online matches with SmashGAF here. I know I might be little too late but it's better than nothing!

I wonder if anyone already cleared Smash 3DS without using any hammer to break challenge in SmashGAF?.

I eventually get around to becoming decent - good with most of the roster when it comes to Smash games, but this go around I decided to take on that task a bit earlier. Just as well, considering how strange a thought it would be to keep yourself to just one or two characters all the time when there's about 50 others to play.

Characters I'd use for a tournament though, are Yoshi and the Captain. I used to think I was good with Megaman too, but lately I've gone against people that really know how to dismantle him (or me when I'm using him at least, lol). So he's sort of a pocket character for me now, along with Bowser, his eight kids, Fox and Mario.

Who's up for 1v1, y'all know where my code is B)

Lmaaoooooo

I was just playing against a Mario with my Samus. We were both on our last stock in the 120s. He had sent me flying over the edge, and I was coming back to recover. But instead of going for the edge, this time, I used the partial charged shot I had saved earlier, and sent him flying off screen... but slowly. I tried to use my Screw Attack to recover, but I didn't calculate for its knockback, and I missed the edge, sailing downwards in helpless. But this guy, flying away as slowly as he had been, managed to die before I did.

I forgot to save the replay, and I quit after that.

Oooof the grind is too strong for the 3rd panel challenges. I just cleared the first 2 panels and called it a day.

Umm, why is pokemon trainer there?

I'm still 1 hat away. :(
I'm grinding for hats the wrong way by getting everyone to 200000 in Smash Run.

Do yourself a favor by doing Trophy Rush and Target Blast. They are best modes for getting new headgears!

Now where is this from?

Umm, why is pokemon trainer there?

I guess it is artist's creativity at work where he would imagined that Pokemon Trainer is working behind the scene by controlling those pokemons, like Hunter did in Duck Hunt's moveset.

I've been stuck at one more Smash Run power for way too long now.

A suggestion here: set up your favorite character with LV 4 Spinning Blade and Super Armor or Brief Invincible

If you haven't complete all characters' custom moves then focusing on a character until you got all custom moves, then move to next characters. It's one of best way to competing two challenges at once.
