I'm a little disappointed that most characters were revealed beforehand tbh. I loved discovering all the new chars on my own.

On yet another tangent, did anyone else see that slow motion version of Duck Hunt Dog's final smash and think immediately of the last scene in Jay-Z's 99 Problems video? :lol

when he answered about ridley inclusion in an interview early in development were he said that ridley would have been too big to be playable,and then ridley fans decided that from then onward every time a PotD talked about size,he was teasing ridley
then he clearly showed what could only be ridley shadow while talking about stage bosses.
and still ridley fans were not convinced that he was not playable

Smash is actually one of the more modest games when it comes to cuts. There's never been a complete reset, they've never cut out any of the original characters, etc.

I really don't care about Fire Emblem or Kid Icarus so that already makes a large chunk of the characters not matter to me. But on a positive note, I'm going to buy Uprising and Awakening at some point to try to appreciate these character choices. Try not to hate too hard guys. It's ok to be disappointed but we still have one hell of a great game ahead of us.

My rating for the roster? 8/10.
There were some great surprises involved with the roster (WFT, DHD) and some characters I can't wait to main (Rock, Pacman, The guy in my avatar (
)), but the cutting of a whole franchise sucks. Even more so when this series was the only way they remained relevant. If the linking rumor is true, I'd boost the rating up to 9, simply because of the Chorus kids.

Final Smash Bros.for 3DS roster gets a 10 from me. I wanted something new yet familiar and with lots of variety and customization. And this game has all of these things in spades. Great online play will make me score it an 11.
Why hold onto such a thing for so long though? If I don't get something I want, I compromise and find joy in other things. Tears a mature response.

Palutena? Shulk? Robin? Rosalina? Lucina? Those are literally all of my 10-outta-10 roster choices. I must be the Ultimate Lucky Student, because I never dreamed of getting all of these characters together.

You're talking about Lambda-11 who swaps with Nu-13. It's like they swap every game as far as on consoles. They are the same character though.
Yeah... but Blazblue STARTED with 10 characters (IIRC one of which was a boss).
That game's roster was too small to lose characters until recently.
Even then, in BBCS, Nu-13 got "replaced" by Lambda-11 outside of her Unlimited form. She just recently got brought back as a separate character in lieu of Lambda... until DLC in BBCP.
Meanwhile you've got the SF4 series still not bringing back highly requested characters, until they put together SFxT and later decided to port some of the missing SF cast over because it's less work.
Still no Sodom though -__-

i dont think roster discussions will ever end once smash 6 or w/e its being called gets announced the smash cycles begins anew
im liking the roster a lot im excited to try out palutena and robin as well as lucina (me and my friend right now are fighting over whos gonna main her rofl) dh as well bowser jr while im not all that familiar with them look great and shulk looks like a lot of fun. while many here dont seem to like dark pit or dr.mario i think the characters themselves might be pretty sweet once i get to play em.
overall the roster for someone who likes fire emblem as well as liked uprising the roster is really quite good for me anyway

Pretty good. Ice Climbers and Simon Belmont are really the only omissions that bug me. Simon is probably a lost cause since Konami is a bunch of fuckwads so I can't get too upset about that. Takamaru would have been nice to have as a playable character though. Honestly, they are getting to the point where the important characters are pretty much accounted for.
Well, the poster does say it's 100% happening. And if he's wrong, EmCee is giving him the axe.

Pop in the Wii U disc, and then:
- Create a Mii fighter (I'm thinking Brawler, but need to see more of the gunner)
- 5 Min VS matches with Mega Man, Pauletina, Shulk, Greninja, Mii
- Pick whichever one of those 4 i like best and do a Classic Mode run. Then another Classic run with 2nd best, etc
- Do whatever it takes to unlock BowsJr (assuming using the Mii gets DogDuck. Bowser Classic mode run?)
- Go to bed

Because people like to see their favorite Nintendo represented in a Nintendo crossover game. What's the point of a new Smash if you don't get any of the characters you want? I'm glad that DuckHunt and Bowser Jr look fun, or I'd probably hate the game.
He's not 100% on the unlock method, think that's just a hunch. But he's sure on the characters
