I really feel the Miiverse Update threads should come to an end when this topic runs its course. I know some people have made some excellent points on why they need to remain, but I feel like it fractures discussion. Why should I talk about anything Smash related in the official thread when more people are here and my posts about the game will have more feedback in this thread? I don't see the harm in moving everything to the excellent official thread. OTs are not solely for the discussion of gameplay mechanics, but anything revolving around the game itself. We can still discuss Miiverse updates in the OT as it relates to news about Smash, which typically OTs are used for. We all know these threads are not merely for discussion about Miiverse pics, but for Smash as a whole. This kind of discourse needs to be in the official thread.

I don't think a trophy is proof of any plans that may be had for post-release content, even though it's not looking likely. No one will be able to verify whether it's real or not until the Wii U version comes out.

But rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt.

Just talk about it in the 3DS thread and make a new topic for any significant news. Anyone who thinks Wii U news can't be discussed in the 3DS OT is just playing the semantics game. The truth is that there is already an established community in the Miiverse threads that should migrate to the OT in order to unify and enhance discussion. I know most people will not have the game until it hits the US, but that doesn't mean people can't contribute to the discussion.

I have a source who has been right about previous leaks and has worked on the European localization of the game. He says he has definitely seen moving models of Dixie, Ridley, Chorus Men and Mewtwo in the game and he's still confident that these four characters can be unlocked by linking the 3DS version to the Wii U version.

Now, I know how outlandish this sounds, and being a game journalist myself I'm taking this with a grain of salt myself, but we're talking about the guy who told me about the Bowser Jr. alts immediately after the ESRB leaks and has never been wrong about other stuff as well. Plus, the whole connectivity thing makes far too much sense, if only to get fans to buy both versions. *insert itprintsmoney.gif here*

Again, I swear on my soul that I'm not trolling. Time will tell. I thought Ridley was never gonna be in, but hey.

Ahh. I wasn't disagreeing or anything I just wanted the thoughts on that. I could care less where we talk about smash.

Seeing the thophy sucks, it suggests she won't be DLC, but it's not definitive proof: they can just add another trophy as "Playable Dixie" (sounds mighty stupid though) or rename the older one. We've seen a Wolf trophy as well, but I seriously think Sakurai would add him as DLC if given the chance.

For the Wii U version, I think it all depends on if bringing an Amiibo with a custom moveset is enough for you to play with that custom character, or if it also has to be unlocked on the local host system as well. If Nintendo is smart, then it's the former since then each participant in a tournament is then buying Amiibos of each of their mains to bring with them.

I forgot about the amiibos. That would be a interesting way to do it.

Ganondorf seems to have a decent amount of new animations for his customs. Seems he got slightly better treatment in this department than someone like Mario who didn't get new animations.

lol @ the recurring notion that bringing amiibos to a tournament is ever going to be a thing.


For unlocking the moves you're just going to need one person with a complete 3DS save file go around all the WiiU systems and trasfer the content.

And for custom moves, the ones you use are going to be dependent on whoever the other player picks and what the stage you're playing on is, being able to save a moveset on an amiibo is barely helpful at all.

It comes from Master Hand. It gathers a swarm of black things
It has many forms, like a Beast or a Sword.
Each form has its own attacks, so act accordingly.
If you raise the intensity, it will have more forms.
If you destroy all the swarm, it will reveal its core.

Its not very well translated, but there is it :p

An ominous thing that appeared from Master Hand. Many black objects called the Swarm come together to mimic things like a beast or swords. These different forms are to counter every possible method of attack. The more the degree of seriousness rises, the more forms it takes on to torment fighters. When the swarm is completely wiped out the core's main body is revealed.

Edit: damn, beaten. I need to work faster on translating shit
