Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Miiverse Update Thread XVI

And, after a month of me filling too many first posts with my giant graphics, it's all done. I made this poll to help build hype and remind us of all the fun we've had with past Smash games, so hopefully you guys had fun; I definitely did seeing everyone's reactions to everything. Sorry again for clogging these threads will all of my giant banners!

I also wanted to give a big thank you to all of you. I lurked community for quite some time before joining NeoGAF back in May and being welcomed in by all of you has been a real treat. All this when we haven't even gotten to play the game we're obsessing over together yet! It's hard finding a sensible, well-spoken community for gaming online and, while we definitely delve into our fair share of madness and waifu-ing, I've come to like this place quite a bit. Hopefully post launch a lot of you will stick around, as it would be a shame for us to have talked to so much about Smash 4 to not get to experience it much together.

You guys seriously rock. But we've got the next entry in the Smash Bros. series coming out in Japan fucking tomorrow, so we don't have time for getting sappy. Let's start this new era of Smash off right and keep the hype up until we get this game in the hands of everyone worldwide!

Hmm, okay. A little bit disappointed by the costumes. It's really cool that they put in multiple genders on character, made Alph an Olimar costume and whatnot, but some characters definitely got way worse treatment. Little Mac has a few really cool costumes, and some costumes are just horrible like Pac-Man's and Sonic's.

I imagine in those cases they had to abide by Namco's and Sega's rules. Different coloured Sonics is basically how they add new characters into that franchise.
 
I'm very happy that Shulk made to second place. It's well deserving placement for SHulk! :D

Also I see why Wario is secret character since he got kicked out of top 20, and Ice Climbers and Wolf being cut because no one love them anymore.

Yo, thanks for all the hard work, Oric. Your polls were easily among the best things about these threads.

It's great to see that Captain Falcon is so loved. He should get his own, non-smash bros game some time!

Hilarious enough. Cap Falcon won the veteran poll. I already made Day 2 GIF with Falcon like a week ago. What a coincidence and great timing. :)

I've played more than 100 matches in the demo and I'm still over hyped XD

btw where is that guy who post a pic with a countdown for the release date?

With all this considered, I hope the next F-Zero game (if we get one) isn't just "The Captain Falcon Show Starring/Written/Produced/Directed/Catered by Captain Falcon". There's a bunch more characters that need love too.

Honestly, it's probably only like this in a few match ups, where a character has a really powerful move that can be pocketed (So a projectile smash or super projectile). It'd probably be easy enough to avoid if you're aware of it
 
Every new thing I hear about Villager's Pocket makes me more and more excited for him. At this rate, it sounds like you can Pocket nearly everything in the game except other fighters.

It's a shame, since I was looking forward to playing with you, but the world just can't continue with anti-Warioites around.
 
What I want to know is whether a villager can pass between his teammate in doubles. Because I see that being much more deadly than in singles where you can just be smart about when to use your strong projectiles
 
Villager is like the ultimate "you ain't zoning me" character.
