Notice no PS3 theme mentioned on the Limited Edition voucher but it's clearly there in the picture of the Collector's Edition. I wonder why they didn't advertise this?
Is Tales of Abyss a good one to start with? I have a 360 but I hate playing on it these days so unless Vesperia is the best thing ever for a newcomer to start the series with I'd like to hear your guy thoughts.
It turns out that Vesperia probably is the best game for a newcomer to start with. :x It was the second game in the series I played (I played a fair bit of Symphonia and didn't really like it) and I was honestly surprised at how much I enjoyed playing it, and it's my favorite in the series (although my experience is rather limited, having only played Vesperia, Symphonia, Graces F and Abyss). Is Tales of Abyss a good one to start with? Pfft, I need this Civic Holiday. Holidays are good!
Been feeling so out of it lately.
I would take Vesperia over just about any Tales game but I might be biased. I think almost universally though people would choose Vesperia over Abyss though.

Does this game have the same problem Vesperia had with missables?
My evidence comes from the unboxing pictures posted from JustPushStart as well as a user on another forum that got his game early from Club Namco in the US [he did an unboxing video too]. He posted a picture of his DLC voucher [code obviously not included].
Here are the pictures of both:

Haha, I'm still using the Tales of Graces f theme as well! I have another PS3 theme to look forward to, as well [the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F one for pre-orders]!are the themes nice? I still use the graces one on my US account
You got it!Just to verify, the collector's edition is the one with the statue right? I really wish they would have just named on Collector's Edition and the the non-figure version Day One Edition or something. This CE/LE stuff is confusing.

As for how these will be, I'm not sure. I'm assuming one of them will be the one Japan got in the "X Edition" released there. Here's a screenshot of Milla and, supposedly, if cycles between characters each time you turn it on.
I can't seem to find anything on the supposed second one, though. Either it's something new, or maybe it'll be the one included with Tales of Xillia 2?
Ah, so it's an early pre-order bonus as well, huh? Very nice. That didn't just come with the X edition, it came with any preorder of the Japanese game.
You got it!
The Collector's Edition comes with the game, hardcover [mini] artbook with 100-or-so pages, PVC figure, and soundtrack. In addition, I guess it gets two exclusive PS3 themes. The Limited Edition [basically the Day One version] comes with the game, smaller artbook, and the soundtrack. Both Collector's and Limited Editions come with the Costume Pack DLC.
Yeah, I can understand why they want to include a little something extra for those buying the Collector's Edition [although we are already getting the PVC figure and the larger artbook]. I'm just surprised that it wasn't mentioned anywhere prior.Well then I don't think it's unfair that the people getting the CE are getting an additional theme. They are paying more money for the product..

I've imported a few items and and I definitely feel your pain [especially for the Special/Limited Editions].I have that theme. Cycles between about 4-5 pictures I think. It's too bad countries outside of Japan will never get these cool PS3 bundles though. Imported it myself and that ate into my wallet.
I'll likely receive both on the same day [Tuesday]. I'm not sure which I'll play first. >_<Man, juggling this with Dragon's Crown is gonna be painful.

It's not unfair, but man, with the confusion of whether the preorder items will be in with the Collector's Edition too awhile back, it seems they need to know how to better advertise what's actually included.
Oh I agree, but then again since when has Namco ever been clear about their products? Let's not forget the awful handling of the Wizard's Edition
You could place some blame on Namco for choosing to go with Digital River despite their increasingly bad rap, but yeah, it's still mostly Digital River there. That's less Namco and more Digital River sucking in general.
It's in The Drop and Ni no Kuni was day 1 digital, but just from that I don't know for sure.Is it getting released for the PSN store too?
I spent the entire weekend playing Xillia and will have the review ready by tomorrow night up for view by Tuesday morning when embargo lifts. lol.
Oh what a shame. Your avatar bet lost ended.
It just won't be the same.
What even happens if he wins these bets? Does a mod or another poster take him on? Or is it more like him playing Russian Roulette all by himself? There will be plenty more bets to lose
It's one theme, but the wallpaper images just change whenever you come from the PS store, from a game, etc.LE don't get the themes? :/
I like the Milla one. I'm sure I'd like the Leia one, too even doe I haven't seen it yet.
Are you sure there's only one theme? It's one theme, but the wallpaper images just change whenever you come from the PS store, from a game, etc.
So, Jude, Milla, Leia, Alvin, Rowen, and Elize all have one to themselves, then there's one with the girls, one with the guys, one with the entire cast, and one with the title screen background. They just rotate whenever you come back to the XMB from something like a game or the PS Store or when you boot the system up.
Nope. All interesting Tales systems have been replaced by the shop build system, where you use materials you find in battle/on the field to level up shops to get new inventory in them. Old equipment is useless. Is there alchemy in this one? I want to know if I can sell off my old gear/weapons when possible. I remember needing old weapons/gear in Vesperia to forge better stuff.
He was talking about the Xillia theme, and that's the one I'd addressed. It'll be the same one that was a preorder bonus for all the JP copies. Are you sure there's only one theme?

Ah, greatest apologies! He was talking about the Xillia theme, and that's the one I'd addressed.

Edit: The Xillia 2 one kind of has the same thing going on. Every character has their own wallpaper, one with the girls, one with the guys, one with everyone, one with a background.

You didn't imagine it.We're getting Xillia 2 right? Or did I just imagine that announcement?
You didn't imagine it.
I don't think I've seen anyone mention that kind of thing yet. I guess there's only a few people who really like trying to create crazy combo's.
