As Speculawyer will tell you, I always go for the medic. If the medic's dead then the engineer, if both are dead then the player I feel is the biggest immediate threat (I'm pretty good at picking out the regulars based on headgear).

You would have to change your hat every life to do it right (Quick Weapon switch + 6 brings up the menu for Quick Hat switch. 4 is Spy Watch also.)

I tend to always go after the medic first too.

If you're talking about enabling Fast Weapon switch in the advanced options where developer console is then pressing 6 it doesn't work for me. And if you don't mean that i have no clue what you're talking about :)

Yep, I suggested it on the Steam Beta, and someone pointed out you could already do what I wanted to. "Just push quick weapon switch and the slot. Even works on hats"

Quick Weapon switch is something Valve snuck in not to long ago, look though your keyboard commands and you should see it. I have it mapped to F1.
 
I've used Quick Switch a long time ago but I never knew you could do key combinations. I always thought that in order to change your primary you have to have your primary out then hold quick switch. It's why I get irritated when I want to switch out of passive items like Razorback.

Same here. Usually if I need to switch more than one weapon I just go to the full equip screen ( I have "/" bound to quick switch and "M" bound to full equip).

Thanks for the info. I have quick loadout switch mapped to '-' but I didn't know there was a way to switch the watch/shield/hat stuff.

I didn't ether, then I was told! The Steam Message boards are finally good for something!

1, 2, and 3 are the load slots of most of the classes
4 is the Spy Watch.
5 is the Disguise kit and destruction tool (Can't be switched).
6 is Hat.
7 is Misc.
8 is Action items (So you can quickly equip a duel or a sound.)
 
I like the bonnet, the Halmark gets used to often IMO.

And Speculawyer, have you been Achievement farming!

Thank you thank you thank you. I'm up to about 3 Medic hats that I like to switch between. And two Pyro ones.

I could have sworn I saw him on an achievement farming server after the GAF server died last night. >_> <_<

How many hours have you played? I only got one hat drop (soldier's pot) after about 500 hours of play. Then I suddenly get 2 hat drops in one night :lol TF2

Not me unless Valve gives it to people who own 9 or more games that make up the bundle. I am not paying $30 for the 4 games I don't own.

Yeah it's a few months behind. I don't think the forum has an updated one yet probably because Australian Christmas was the last major hat push.

But the Bonk Helm hasn't changed much from previous updates so I fully expect it to be of low value.
 
Well, I officially give up on trade servers. Every time I find someone who has something I want I get scoffed at for my offer.

Sooo! I'm just going to bug you guys.

Still looking for a Big Kill... Hoping someone in GAF will get tired of their Sam & Max stuff and will be willing to trade me for it.

I'm also looking for a Vintage Batter's Helm now.


I have a Buckaroo's Hat, and a Hard Counter I don't want, some metals, 2 dueling mini games, and
crates lolol
willing to trade for the items I want.

Oh, and, I would like to trade my Hustler's Hallmark for another Demo hat. No Fros please.

Have you tried the Steam User Boards yet? Make a topic saying you are looking for a Big Kill, see what offer you get. Try to set it up as who can give you the "Lowest" bid.

You will likely have to man up and be prepared to put a number of hats on the board though. What have people been asking for to get a big kill?

Big Kill goes for a lot. 3 Bills from what I heard, and one Bill's hat goes for about 7 keys (~14 refined).

Paint won't help, but since it's vintage you might be able to get 3 refined for it? Maybe a bit less, but I'm pretty noob at trading.
 
I traded 8 of my crates (including a series 9 because I'm generous) for two normal items last night. That's better than nothing, but I feel this great sense of emptiness now that I'm down to like 15 crates now. :/ I've got to save back up for when Valve gives everyone a million free keys!

That's depressing, I thought they dropped more often :lol

Only hat I have is from an achievement :/
 
Yeah, you got ripped off big time. Ear buds are one of the most valuable items in the game. You could have gotten a dozen hats for it or even several unusuals.

Anyways, Portal 2 is about two weeks away, and still no preorder bonus for TF2. There obviously has to be one all things considered, I wonder why they're waiting so long.

What's the effect? It actually matters a lot.

I would suggest you think carefully before you trade it. Put up a post on the steam tf2 trading forum and see what you're offered. A pic would help to get good bids.

I'm pretty sure you can't get several unusuals for a buds (unless someone is very ignorant), but yeah, you could've gotten quite a bit more for it.
