How many players did SFV have at the same time on PC?

Get the PS4 version. I can't think of a single PC FG without crossplay that retained a healthy playerbase. Putting your FG on PC without crossplay is completely pointless imo, especially one with so little single player content.

USF4 did with a peak of only 4.5K or so. T7 currently has almost 4 times the number of players. It's fine

Mid tier isn't high tier :p

And I haven't really bothered checking the tier list in 7. How's the placement right now?

The main one circulating is based on the Japanese pro scene.

Man it's been too long.
I love Tekken but i'm definitely casual af, and definitely confused whenever I'm in a thread.

Love my Yoshimitsu :D

Really like the game so far, just disappointed with the lack of single player modes.

My daughter likes to trash talk me in Injustice 2 when she plays as Harley. Then I play as Batman and shut her up.

Lol I do the same. In Mario kart I just start winning every race and in Injustice I use Bane and just keep tossing her around. Have to love shit talking daughters, cute and annoying at the same time.

She WAS mid-tier, she got buffs, is that hard to understand?

Tiers really REALLY don't matter though. That should be in the OP.

I'm having a really difficult time trying not to buy this. I haven't played a Tekken game since 3! Just trying to decide PS4 or XB1. Leaning PS4.

It feels like I'm drowning in the depths of this game. Are there any beginner's guides for people with little experience playing hardcore fighting games? I wanna get GOOD

Guys, tiers don't really matter much in Tekken. Calm down, and enjoy the one character you want.

I remember I think Aris said, tiers only start coming into play during much longer sets, especially with regards to the Asian scene and how they determine who is what tier. It's not really applicable outside of that.

Tekken 7 tiers right now are super compressed to begin with. The difference between top Ling and bottom Gigas is smaller than that between high and mid tier in most other games.

Play who you like the looks off. It's your skill and knowledge holding you back, not the character.

(Some characters -are- harder to learn though. You may see this as a problem or as a challenge. )

I was just having some fun with the talk. Didn't expect it to make you cross.

What's probably more relevant is some characters are a lot harder to use to full potential.

I guess so. Mishimas are a bit of a pain, right? I'm hoping to really understand Heihachi this time.

this

Tekken doesn't seem to balance its characters based on haves and have-nots as far as options go. It's a thing, but it isn't neaarrrrlllyy as severe as it is in 2D fighters

Tried playing some more since this morning, haven't been able to get a single online game yet. The netcode really isn't ready at all.

On the other hand, I spent the rest of my time playing the (excellent) story mode, practising and browsing the classic movies, and had a blast. It's still a good package, even without online.

Tiers matter when you are experienced abd consistently able to take advantage of character flaws.

This is very hard to do in Tekken.Tiers dont matter to the average player for the most part.

So I've been following this list to learn some moves for King: https://drunkardshade.com/2017/05/27/tekken-7-top-15-moves-for-all-characters/

But I'm having trouble basically understanding any and all of it. Let's take the entire first move, which is 1,[2] _ 2,1. Can anyone take some time to explain what all of that is or maybe link me to another article explaining more in detail; move command, startup frame, and block frame. The last two seem like just complicated metadata for a move that I may not need to know unless I'm advanced. Which I am certainly not, straight 6-hours-into-a-fighting-game beginner.

I can tell what f,f,N,1+2 is I think. Press forward twice, then press whatever buttons 1+2 are while not pressing a direction. The brackets, underscores, and commas are just really throwing me off.

Lol you guys are brutal. If I had a trash talking daughter I would teach her the art and embrace it. It reminds me of the Dead or Alive 2 days when I would dominate my friends and make them rage and break their dreamcast controllers. The shit talk was real back then.

I wish this had a higher resolution on the Pro, but oh well. And no options to turn of CA and Film grain on PS4?

For those of you who aren't fighting game pros, and who have recently played Injustice 2, how does this feel in terms of accessibility, compared to I2? I haven't played Tekken since 2. Playing I2 has been fun, but the projectile spamming takes a lot of the fun out of it. I like the idea of a 3D playing field, too.

Anyway, Tekken 7 arrives on WED for me, and I just want someone to say "it'll be Ok, drewfonse". Even if you're lying, even if you know I'll get smoked playing online.

Jeez, compare the right sides of the stage. That CA is nasty.

yeah...and the lettering of "The Iron Fist Tournament" is effected also

there isn't really an On/Off for Film Grain/CA on PC either...you have to go into config files and add info to disable it

honestly should have just been a toggle like in other games but oh well...maybe they'll add that in the future

I've been able to get ranked games fine but only when I do it through warm-up. The match list is useless.

Once in a match it seems pretty great.

The Revenge match has the same two people, using the same stage with the same characters with the same outfits.

Why is there a second loading screen for it

Has anyone tried the Lobby system for Tekken yet?

Decided to do a 4 man Lobby system and it is legit terrible. Takes about two minutes to get into a fight and spectate and if you are behind spectating 30 seconds when they finish their match ahead of you the match just freezes and is stuck on syncing for a minute until it kicks you out.

Meanwhile the people who won their match are waiting in lobby for a minute while the spectator is stuck spectating.

Anyway to fix this? This is awful, doesn't even let you watch the end of match either just boots you out after a minute.

This link should help: http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/legend.php

An underscore just means "or", so essentially there are two versions of inputs for that move (for example Akumer's fireball would be qcf+1_qcf+2).

Katarina's counter hits are so meaty. And her rage drive combo extender is amazing. Whew, who'd have though she'd be the best new female character since Tekken 3?

So I tried enabling UPnP and setting up a DMZ for my PS4, still can't connect to a single game. Every other online game I have is working just fine, so this is starting to get frustrating. Anything else I can do but hope Namco notices that some people are having the issue and fixes it?

Damn capos... I'm still having such a hard time against them. Not the mashing ones, but the ones who kind of know how to throw off my ability to sidestep properly.
