What happened to TONY-T? He had some of the best CV in tekken 4 and 5. He doesnt play any more?

He defected over to other games after T5~6, still competitive.. But He plays injustice, mk etc now.
Really?

That sucks. I remember him having one of the best Bryan Fury and Lei Wulong teams..

Its a sad day when one of the most prolific combo video makers chooses to play NetherRealm games. Fuck....

I guess all those people complaining about bounds and backdashes got heard. These are changes I probably will not like.

Spooky did also say "movement is the same" so maybe just the walking animation got changed/buffed to something less awkward looking while BDC is still faster/optimal.

We'll have to see later today, I guess. I can't believe the game releases on PSN today and there's still little to no information on it.

Lol? Kaz is harder to use than other mishimas huh? Ok Aris.

And lei is way over in the easy and high tier side?

Lookin at flowers again...

Of course Kaz is the hardest Mishima to use. You trying to tell me that you're consistently getting full damage off of 1+2 and busting out perfect EWGF all the time with no problem?

Yep. I came to post this. The game supposedly comes out today, this evening or whatever and we have barely seen a screenshot of it and a very short trailer with hardly any information on it? This is sort of strange. Also, TTT2 is still pretty active, so I am wondering why they are releasing this now. Not that I am complaining because I want to play it, but it's just peculiar.

If this is true, then that's the best compromise all told. I'm not sure about taking bound out, but we'll see how it goes. If the goal was to shorten combo length, I would have preferred it if they increased gravity and kept the combo variety.

No bounds is the best news. My only real problem with TTT2 (besides too many characters/moves but thats w/e) is that combos are too long. Besides, combos without bound are more creative than 3-6 hits, bound, ender zzzzzzzzz

We back baby. Back to oldschool Tekken! This shit is awesome! Too bad it has this level system to put points into stats.

And what's unlockable?

This ain't old school Tekken... this is new school... everything is darn easy, invincible moves are broken and noobs still don't stand a chance moreso than ever... everything is darn braindead...

Sorry if I sound like an hater here...

I hate you :( :( :(

I just miss the whole 1v1 with no bounds of Tekken. Characters look pretty good.

But I still love you :) :) :)

Btw, try a 10 hit combo. lol

TR has a lot of good ideas (no bound, colors for punishment, walking animations), but the f2p model they're using is too ass and its too orange. They should have let you play however long you want and made their money off costumes. Either way if this is the huge overhaul Tekken is going to get then I'm fine with it, it still feels like Tekken.

How are they broken? They are all launch punishable from what I heard. Sure, a bunch of stuff is easier, but nothing game breaking really. BDC still matters.

Harada on the madcatz stream just said next year is Tekken 20th anniversary and they're working on something.

Expect real Tekken or at least TxSF in 2014 imo.

It kills pressure and setup based play styles. Jun, Williams, Xiaoyu, Hwo/Baek and others will suck completely at this game (unless AOP crushes everything)... There's a reason why they are not here in that game despite being more iconic that Lars and Alisa... continuous poking can get crushed easily, strings chars stand no chance due again to crushing, and going to stance transitions and setups will be killed again by the same crushing invincible moves. Juggles for the likes of xiaoyu will be weak again and the game is focused again to turtling, making the whole darn game one-dimesional... I am raised at this type of game but I utterly hate it because its so darn boring...

You know why many people like it now? It's so easy to win... just like others...

So you have to change how approach the game, bait and punish. Like you said, those characters are not there for a reason. This is not the next Tekken game, this isn't the future of Tekken. It's an experiment to bring in new players and try new mechanics.

Everyone is being so dramatic over this, Tekken is doomed, fire and brimstone!

Yeah, I changed my mind on this while watching the Aris stream. If Aris likes it, it can't be that bad.

Will be playing tomorrow us version, later eu one.

Don't know how much time I'll spend with TR, I haven't even been able to spend time playing my copy of TTT2 yet. But I'll be back at my apartment on Thursday, and I would definitely like to play with some of you guys.

I'm just going to fucking chill with this game. No loss record, no WTF tracking, crazy new properties e.t.c. Even Aris looks like he's having fun with it.

Thats wht I'm saying, the game ONLY revolves around punishment... it pretty much killed other playstyles and creativity that made Tekken grueling yet fun... In previous tekkens, I can get away camping and turtling and punishing, which isn't the case in tag 2. Setups are good in that game, Pressure is good in that game, and now I'm trying to learn the game again finding ways to balnce my game and keep opponents on my toes. Not so much in this game..
Its so straightforward and easy its no fun... like I can win and feel like I didn't accomplish or learn a thing...

It's a free Tekken game. I don't know why people have such large expectations. Not having the game lower res with tags makes these characters great looking.

I was hoping my character was Xiaoyu but ended up getting Bryan (with the first unlock). The wife got Steve Fox.

The whole layout reminds me of free iOS games.

Im kinda amped up about it since Namco is always listening...

I hope the char unlock order isn't fixed. And i still dont see any where I can "buy" a desired character.

Very odd that chars from the beginning are missing (Nina, Yoshi, etc)

Tekken Revolution seems like a distraction. They could have been spending important development time and funds making progress on TKXSF and Smash Bros. 4 instead. Tekken Card Tournament was a complete success with over 1 million downloads so I'd imagine that's what led to Tekken Revolution.

Gonna download it now so I'll see if I like it.

I doubt Harada's team is touching Smash Bros.

As far as making progress on TxSF goes... I'm on the side of the people that think that this is a beta test for mechanics in future games, so I don't think this is a waste of time at all. I just think invincibility moves are dumb as hell because it's way too easy to react to a ton of moves. The moment you see something like a 17+ frame move start up, you can shut that shit down.

I believe there is Tales, Gundam, Tekken and Soul Calibur staff working on Smash Bros. Link here. And I sure as hell hope the netcode people from Tekken and SC are working on Smash Bros. 4 because that game will NEED it.

We got Tekken's 20th anniversary coming up and that's probably when we'll see TKXSF or even Tekken 7.

And yeah, I guess Tekken Rev. isn't a waste in that sense.
