Dice said:It does seem like it was at the end of whatever line Ferraris were in the front of, with that whole limited budget/manpower/hard deadline thing again. Seeing as how they had a massive force of 3 testers for this large of a game, I'm perfectly willing to put a lot of blame on Atari for most things wrong with this game.
Cheap out = Problems? But it worked so well for our 5-hour single player platformer projects! It should work just as well for our insanely ambitious, genre-forwarding racing game, too!
Yeeeaaahh... Not so much, Atari.
Accolade!Dilly said:Yeah, I'd like to see this game under another publisher, which isn't named Activision.
Dice said:Hahahaha, so I'm in the A3 championship and my car is a little bit slower than Stuart's. I'm using automatic and it did that thing where it lags to put the car into gear so he gets a head start. The first part of the course is this really long straightway and the first checkpoint is at a 90 degree turn, so I don't bother slowing down AT ALL from 5th gear and just use the handbrake to send my car flying sideways right into him. Knocked his ass straight into a ditch, followed by a tree, while I breezed right through the turn.
That's how we race in the hood, bitch.
Edit: Now, I have 2.2mil and the next cup will net me 5mil. Should I get a Bugatti now, or wait until after I'M ON A BOAT?

Dice said:I don't think it's too far off, especially when you read what he says. The fact is the sound does suck, several of the features have the feel of the dev reaching beyond their means, the bug-laden online functionality is only hopeful for those who already own the game, there is a shocking lack of common sense with even the simplest of execution, many single player races don't even seem possible to beat unless you pick the fastest car in that class, etc.
If I had to give the game an objective rating, I'd have to give it a "really fun 6.5" and I don't have a boner for EA like IGN does.
Ah, that is where I was thinking...the laptop on the table. Unfortunately, the TDULife never loads up...just the icon spins in place like it is trying to access a server (PS3 version).cjelly said:House - Info - MyTDU2Life.
I think.
There's no easy way to opt out of the whole always online aspect is there? So you'll have people appearing who are more interested in progressing and unlocking stuff than messing around.cjelly said:The biggest thing I dislike is I thought I'd jump on and when I encountered randomers we'd go for a cruise or something... But everyone just does their own thing.
Geat thing about games like GTA4 and Burnout Paradise, people would actually muck about together. Doesn't seem to be any of that on here for all the 'MMOR' talk.
Its pretty easy actually. Just under game settings, you can deselect "Allow Online Interactions" and whammo, you're driving solo.VibratingDonkey said:There's no easy way to opt out of the whole always online aspect is there? Dice said:I created our club. It's on the south crater ridge in Oahu. Let me know your TDU2 username if you want in, you can also add me on Steam to make it easier, I'm macblarneystone. But here is some important information:
Our club is limited right now. I invited amrod because he plays a lot like I do, but I don't know who else here is active. If we are active with our club we'll gain more experience and be able to upgrade it faster. I suppose active members will also be more likely to have a lot of money to help upgrade it. I'm about to get $5mil from the Hawaii 2 cup so I could pay for the cost myself instead of buying a Yacht, but it'll take a few of us to get the experience.
Seeing as how many people like the game (or rather, how many don't like the game) we may not have to upgrade beyond level 2 club unless we want to hold more cars. Still, some people who don't enjoy it very much may like playing with other people on GAF a lot more than the single player mode, so I don't know how many will want to join our club.
You don't have to contribute, although I doubt I'd be able to fund the level 3 upgrade by myself. I'm Dice in the game.Sysgen said:I've put in over 50 hours so far and would join the club but what's this about contributing money
Win races, get licenses, drive on new roads, take pictures, find wrecks, pick people up off the side of the road, buy shit, get surgery, add friends. Reaching level 10 is pretty fast.Shaneus said:Argh, I haven't unlocked Oahu yet I haven't put in time for a while, are there some tips I can follow on Ibiza for some quick levelling up to get there? I'll clock a few hours tonight, for sure. I must join!
OneLetter said:Anyone have a 360 club? Lookin to join one since I've finished all the cup races.
Also, the "Tail" missions are ridiculous unless you have a Veyron or Atom or something. The NPC's just accelerate like mad.
bkfount said:well I tried to tolerate the bullshit, and see a great game underneath, but my copy sold on ebay for $38. I'll probably pick it up again in a few months if it's working by then.
I'll never bite on an Atari game outside a bargain bin ever again though.
To the TDU2 community,
Thank you for your continued support and feedback. Our community has been amazing and helped us quickly identify a number of issues, which we have made significant progress in addressing in the upcoming patches.
We really appreciate your patience in this matter and we would like to announce that we will be making the first premium DLC for the game free for everybody as a way of saying thank you.
The Exploration Pack contains new wrecks to be discovered that unlock the Lancia Stratos version Rallye and 1969 Dodge Charger.
We now have fixes for all of the following issues that have already gone live on PC and will follow shortly once patches are approved by Microsoft and Sony, respectively.
Issues Fixed:
*Logging into the game has been improved
*Once into the game the online network experience is now much more stable in all areas
*Save games no longer corrupt
*Existing corrupted save games will be repaired in many cases
*Friends lists are now populated
*Invites now work correctly
*Clubs have been brought back online
*Exploits to gain money have been fixed
*Casino access has been improved
*Players will no longer lose money because of the Casino bug
The team spends a great deal of time looking at community feedback, so please keep posting your comments to the official TDU2 forums and we look forward to seeing you in Ibiza.
Sincerely,
The TDU2 Development Team
I'm down for a 360 club. I'll check back in later to see if this happens and supply my GT.DJ_Lae said:I'd be up for a 360 club too if anyone's started one.
And yeah, the tail missions are crazy. I did one last night in a GTR and managed to scrape by on one straightaway just because the AI had to slow down for a light at the end and I got close enough to not be disqualified. At the end of the mission I find out he's driving the Mercedes SUV, so I have no idea how he accelerate so goddamn fast.
Welp, never mind. Just started up to a corrupted save, after all the annoying, grinding, but resulting satisfying garbage I had to put up with.cjelly said:Finally updated the OP, thanks to Doffen who randomly PMd me some images for it.
If anyone is setting up a 360 Club, by all means drop me an invite.
That's nice, now how about being able to start a new character without having to rediscover everything and retake every test?We really appreciate your patience in this matter and we would like to announce that we will be making the first premium DLC for the game free for everybody as a way of saying thank you.

Unfortunately my last piece of road was a gas station drive-in in Ibiza section 1, discovered section 2 flawlessly.OneLetter said:After telling myself I wouldn't do the 100% discovery on Ibiza, I started doing it anyway. Section 1 went pretty much OK - traversed all the roads and got credit for it.
Section 2 though, I'm stuck at 99% and I can't find whatever tiny patch of road I'm missing. I've searched the map completely and cannot find it. At least in TDU1, for the "drive on all roads" achievement, they let you off if you missed a few small driveways and whatnot, but in 2, I'm stuck.
Anyone care to share their "last piece of the road" story so that I can maybe find the small piece I'm missing in Ibiza 2?
