Yeah, I agree. If you must get away from Geralt they have other witchers to choose from. Ciri is kind of a boring choice. Geralt VA kinda carried W2 and W3.
I'm not thrilled about it but I will still play this day 1.

I really cant say if its cultural wars or just that the will of the studio was always to do a Ciri game ... so I wont condemn them ... but Im really tired of girl boss leads in video games, specially substituting for a great prot like Geralt ....so its not for me, but I hope anyone who wants this game have lots of fun ... I realized that modern western games are progressively less for my tastes. So Im turning my attention for Asia.

That's the point do a spin off with her but the main saga is about Geralt. A beloved character and there is so many books about him so no excuses.

Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time. If you played the game this 100% makes sense as a continuation of the story. Also it's obvious Geralt will be involved in some respect, but he essentially passes the torch in the good ending. Also I am about as Conservative as they come, not everything with a female lead means it's DEI influenced or trying to push a message. Just like when people say everything is racist it waters down the meaning when an actual issue may be present.

Nah, that takes into account mobile games. If we talk about CORE GAMES, on consoles and PC they are a very small minority. I dont know a single female in real life that plays these types of games, there was literally a big trend not long ago on social media with females saying it is an "ick" if a guy is a gamer. They aint half lol.

Still going to obviously play this but a little disappointed to see Siri as the protagonist. Geralt's sexuality and the babes was a part of Witcher 3 that I enjoyed and bummed it won't be in the next one.
Still looking forward to this though. CD Red Project doesn't miss (at least after some patches). November 2026 would be great to see this but probably looking at 2027.

I hope in game she looks more like Witcher 3. She looked and sounded off, I wasn't even sure if it was Ciri until the scar.
I hate woke shit, but honestly this doesn't really bother from the woke angle. Ciri is already a liked & established character.
At the same time though I cant lie Im a little bummed, I was hoping for a new character. If were going to play as an existing character we've already been adventuring with in the past, I'd rather just be Geralt again.

Motherfucker I've been playing witcher series since 2007, i have collector edition of all 3, is it too much to ask that they dont remove a staple of the series like romances? how is that even going to work with Ciri, you ok as a straight dude to have your char get fucked, you dont find it weird? they will simply remove it. Lol. Did not expect blowback against a Ciri protagonist even if it's just a small crowd. End of Blood and Wine seemed pretty solid that Geralt was retiring. Thought it was pretty clear that Ciri would be the new protagonist. Only thing with her and the universe was it being the era where monsters populations were well into their decline and mostly extinct though the games ignored that anyways. The other being Ciri is supposed to be pretty damn overpowered
