Ugh, I dunno.
FROM usually makes it fk'n impossible to play with your friends and have a good time. It's almost as they looked at the underground success of the Seamless co-op mod and decided to monetize it together with new movement mechanics that'll appeal to the fortnite crowd.

You know, like many I wasn't expecting this at all. I was honestly hoping it was just going to be Elden Ring 2 more than whatever this is. But I'm still in, and I won't judge it until I play it. I'm just... really confused. I can't disagree with the idea that this is FromSoft's way of potentially wanting to play around with new mechanics in the Souls universe. But it really does feel odd. I mean, all of these games are so lore driven, Elden Ring obviously included. But then to state that this is some "parallel universe" that isn't canon just seems so... not like them. That's the biggest thing that makes me feel weird.

Also, how will this game be played solo? You just get bots with you? Definitely makes me feel odd, lol.

Probably GaaS trash at a glance. Probably Sandbox Monster Hunter but with Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Elden Ring bosses. Would prefer another game with Sekiro mobility and combat system but watching the attack animations here that just isn't happening. Looks like a fanservice game. Need more information IMO.

Elden Ring is one of my favourite games of all time, but I didn’t really care for Shadow of the Erdtree. As much as I enjoyed it, I had my fill.

But Nightreign seems to be doing something really different. Sounds like there’s some randomness going on and the multiplayer aspect is interesting to me as well.

I’m intrigued!

Ahem the more I read about it the less I care. You acquire Murk inbetween sessions(so missions or matches) and this currency is used to buy Emotes and Character Skins. So I'd keep expectations low. So probably a cashgrab when all is said and done.

This trend of making multiplayer centric games off of a predominantly single player IP I find obnoxious.

I think by adding Bloodborne into the mix they kinda shit on people wanting a port/remaster/remake/sequel. And I really would prefer either a new Horror game like Kuon from From or a Sekiro 2.

I am always bewildered how they went from Sekiro to Elden Ring. Like man with Castlevania esque settings with a Sekiro combat system just give it to me.

Yes in the preview I watch they say it can have some big modifier like a volcano area etc...

And maybe there is more that Limgraves.

But still is 3 days of 10 minutes, fix character with abilities and "ultimate", no level up etc...

Maybe a fun mode but don't expect a big story mode.

It's not Elden Ring but in co-op. It's a different structure entirely. It looks like they took all the assets of Elden Ring and put it in a random generator.

I think it is a good idea to have a small team reusing assets making smaller games to increase the available budget for the main team making the next big game.
Nobody is forced to buy this, it's very easy to ignore it if you are not interested.

Solo play has already been confirmed, don't why the question keeps getting posted. I'm hyped for it, FROMs take on a roguelike with ER's mechanics being reworked, boss appearances from games past, this is going to be cool

Yep, it's just to tide us over until Miyazaki's latest that is cooking. Sounds fun and they said no mtx so I'm down. If this was a big mod from a fan, people would be pogging out. It's a side project that is fan service.

I like Fromsoftware games because they are single player focused. Hopefully the game isn't made with multiplayer in mind, co-op areas in DS2 are the worst part of that game.

I agree. The things that make FROM's stuff standout do not seem suited at all to me for 15 min bursts of play! FROM's stuff is good mechanically, but frankly its far from best in class in terms of pure combat design. It rewards studied and tactical approaches which seems antithetical within a structure that's constrained by hard time-limits.

How does Elden ring play on pc? I bought it on ps5 and loved it but I let ps+ expire so was looking at getting it on pc now. Amin dying to play the expansion now so wondering if there are any bundle deals right now too.
