Yeah unfortunately many people are naive like this. They think the U.S. is somehow invincible.

This also one of the only times in modern American history where one side has so much power. Usually there is some balance.. Here? Not much at all.

As a Scot i'm pretty damn ashamed he is half Scottish.

Sorry.

He is not half Scottish, he is fully American.

His mum was Scottish but that doesn't make him half anything. Like all the other americans that claim to be 1/16th Irish or whatever nationality they feel like ridiculing.

Cool, thanks.

No problem, here you go: http://www.businessinsider.com/heres-where-the-obamas-are-moving-2017-1

January 19 is Barack Obama's last day in the White House. After the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, he and his family will be on their way to Palm Springs for vacation.

When they come back to DC, they will be settling into a home in the Kalorama section of DC, as Politico reported back in May.

Though smaller than the Obamas' former Pennsylvania Avenue address, the house is still a lavish residence in a desirable neighborhood. It was built in 1928, and it has 8,200 square feet and nine bedrooms.

The Obamas will lease the home from Joe Lockhart, who served as press secretary in President Bill Clinton's White House, until their younger daughter, Sasha, finishes high school. It was listed for sale at $5.3 million before going off the market in May.

Hey look, it's the 3 women who are about to be in the minority on a bunch of huge Supreme Court decisions.

RBG basically looks like a walking Stephen Hawking at this point.

Did you miss George W. Bush's entire presidency and the aftermath of it? Because otherwise you are a fool if you don't think the President and his administration can't have meaningful negative effects on people's day to day lives.
I can't find the post you're quoting but to add to this, this country hasn't worked out great for many citizens over that 200 years. Working class rights, rights for minorities and women, lots of progress has been made in recent times to include more citizens in what was a country started by aristocrats. We very well can see a reversal. It's not like we ever got to actual equality yet in the first place.

So this group of protesters on the guardian are chanting that its "our streets" while simultaneously breaking windows and throwing trash cans into the street. :(

And the protesters start breaking windows. Good job assholes.

I have friends that were going to protest but they decided not to for their own safety. They went to NY instead.

Reminder Trump was the original person who claimed he wouldn't accept the results if he lost and ordered people could physically hurt his opponent from winning.
