This is Catalina Sandino Moreno from Maria Full of Grace for those of you who don't know, and yes, she's absolutely gorgeous.

Damn this girl is smokin. Plus she's not all skin and bones like most a these actresses. That always helps.

Yeah, Kurosawa was only nominated once for Ran. Similarly, the only Oscar Kubrick ever won was for Visual Effects on 2001.

There are some directors that just won't get respect from the Academy, although I don't necessarily think Scorsese's one of them. I think they'll throw him one, one of these days.

the only time I can see Marty getting an award is when its one of those lifetime achievement awards. Which I hope I am wrong, because he has a lot of good movies left in him. His next chance looks to be: "The Departed" opening in 2006. Has a nice cast, and a cool story.

Also on a side note, when Sydney Lument was getting his oscar and they showed his currently in production movie with Vin Diesel, who laughed a little, that this guy made all these great movies, and now has to direct The Pacifier, Vin Diesel, with a shitty hair piece
:lol

Does anyone think that its weird hearing the theme from Terminator multiple times this show?

Yes. Very, very weird.

1. Damn, at this rate Scorsese either needs ten more nominations or a lifetime achievement award.

2. While I have absolutely no problems with Jamie Foxx's performance, I find it somewhat bizarre that Jamie Foxx beat Jim Carrey to the oscar punch and very eye-opening in retrospect that anybody from the ILC cast has made it this far in their careers. :)

Eh, mildly entertaining.

Random thoughts:
Hotel Rwanda got robbed in just about everything. I'm happy for Foxx, but Cheadle was the man. Probably one of the best performances I've seen in the last several years. Sucks but oh well.

Santana: Go the fuck home, thank you! Is it just me, or was his "playing" completely not going with the song on any level, sometimes even taking over Antonio's vocals (which I'll leave for you to decide if that's a good or bad thing). Somewhere in that crappy mix was some acoustic playing though!

Super happy to see Eternal Sunshine win for best original screenplay. One of the few movies that won the category it was most deserving in.

Sean Penn: If only you had 15 minutes and not much else.

Counting Crows: "Yay we're fast approaching the level of self-parody".

Scarlet: Not looking so hot tonight babes.

Prince: If only Chappelle could replace you full-time as the new "Prince".

Al Pacino: Holy shit! How many TONS of blow did you go through before presenting?

Selma: Goddess.

Natalie Portman: Sorry no one told you that dress was for women WITH breasts. Run to your local sperm bank and have a kid. Look what they did for Julia Roberts and Gwyneth Paltrow!

That's about it really.

I don't want Eastwood to make another western. He simply cannot do anything better than Unforgiven.

Don't worry - he won't. Unforgiven was his sign-off to the genre - and my God what a sign-off it is.....

Hmm, well Scorsese has early plans to remake Kurosawa's Drunken Angel, yet again written by John Logan and starring Leonardo DiCaprio. That would be after The Departed and an adaptation of Shusaku Endo's book Silence.

BEST DIRECTOR
Julia Roberts hits the stage to present BEST DIRECTOR... the nominees... Scorsese, Eastwood, Hackford, Payne and Leigh. And the winner is: FUCKING EASTWOOD. GOD DAMN THIS FUCKING ACADEMY! FUCK THEM, THIS and THAT! So... apparently Scorsese just is gonna have to get one of those honorary Oscars. HOLY SHIT - Clint's MOM is in the audience. Dammit. Damn Damn Damn Damn it. Crack Geriatrics team. God I love Eastwood, but not this movie. FUCK.

BEST PICTURE
Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand present the nominees: THE AVIATOR, FINDING NEVERLAND, MILLION DOLLAR BABY, RAY and SIDEWAYS. And the Oscar goes to: FUCK the Goddamn MILLION DOLLAR BABY with a coathanger in a back alley. FUCK THIS! I'm out of here!

Have you seen Hotel Rwanda?

No. Though I'm sure it's going to be an awesome movie also, M$B will be preety hard to be topped. I will watch it soon when I get a chance.

I think it's great that Wanda won and everything, but was I watching a different Oscars than everyone else? I saw the version of the show where Dustin Hoffman was half in the fucking bag and Streisand was practically yelling at him by the end of his slurring, weaving presentation.

:lol I said that the second time I heard it being played...very "outta nowhere".

Pretty good show overall. Seems most got a piece of the pie, Chris Rock was good, etc. Halle looked as good as i've seen her in forever! I LOVE long hair...werk girl!

Yeah, if anything I'd have thought one of the waynes
brothers would have a much bigger career than someone like Foxx

Yeah but someone needs to revive the genre. And he is the best choice to do it.

I've been watching Foxx a long time and I think the Waynes are way overated
but maybe its not really fair since they never tried DRAMA only stayed in Comedy

Watch Jamie Foxx in "BOOTY CALL" and you will understand why people would not see him as
a serious actor but when I saw "Any Given Sunday - ALI" I really started to like him

Booty Call is still one of my favorite comedies not great but enjoyed it

Harry Knowles is probably the biggest hack in the critic business, and biggest in many senses. God I hate that fucker. He's just a big fat weirdo who happens to cream over Miike's movies, and likes to whine about how big money Korean flicks are underrated, when they're just Hollywood thrillers, war movies and police movies with more violence and darker storylines. I just can't wait for when that big fat ass dies from a heart attack.
