Paxton was so good in Big Love (as was the whole cast) - that photo has hit me pretty hard. Very sad.

You see it in a list like that and it almost doesn't make any fucking sense why the show has to be 3 hours long, much less pushing 4.

I thought silence wasn't nominated.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
Does anyone really like Jimmy Kimmel? The way people like Letterman or Conan or Carson?

I hate that any time there's a music-heavy movie in the running, it wins best sound mixing. Music movies are way easier to mix because the music is basically pre-mixed by the time it gets to a mixing stage. Something like Hacksaw Ridge is way more of an achievement in sound mixing.

I can't believe the guy who directed Whiplash also directed La La Land. Guess it shows his range.

I loved Whiplash but haven't give La La Land proper time yet.

Make sure to ignore any politically charged speech made at the Oscars tonight when the Academy inevitably succumbs to their own ego and hands the Best Picture to La La Land instead of Moonlight.

The only movie I've watched from the entire OP is Zootopia... yikes. I haven't even heard of any of the best picture nominations outside of Fences (will watch at some point) and La La Land. (not interested)

For as much as Fury Road motivated me to get my ass to the theater it really killed my interest in other modern films.
