Paul Quantrill suck ass lately. He threw like 5 pitches, and 5 runs scored.

Cubs vs Astros. Astros have to take 5 of 7 vs the Cubs, and 2 of 3 from the Phillies. 7 of 10. It's not TOO Much to ask for...is it?

L.A., needing 'pen help, gets D-Backs' Dessens

The Arizona Diamondbacks traded Elmer Dessens to Los Angeles on Thursday, the Dodgers' second deal for a pitcher since finding out this week that reliever Darren Dreifort was facing season-ending surgery.

The NL West-leading Dodgers sent minor league outfielder Jereme Milons to the Diamondbacks for Dessens and cash considerations. Dreifort was put on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Tuesday.

The Cubs rotation had to be tweaked because of Kerry Wood's five-game suspension, which ends Sunday. Glendon Rusch was scheduled to start Friday and Mark Prior on Saturday followed by Wood on Sunday.

My question is why would anyone doubt Bobby Cox? Until he retires, the Braves are going to make it to the post season.
 
According to most of the media here, it was all poppycock journalism. Clemens was placed on waivers, like 3/4 of the players in the league are. He was claimed by Boston, and Houston took him back. Apparently Boston asked what Houston wanted for him, Astros said no deal.

Jeff Kent though, has apparently gone through waivers.

Cubs going down. 5-2, 6-5, and 2-0.

What a game! Gagne with a puzzling effort once again. I think Tracy has to give Gagne a break. 3 Straight games where he has struggled for some reason. But BELTRE saving our skins twice in one game with number 37 off Smoltz for the extra innings and the game winner in the 11th!!!
 
great game, thank you Beltre for getting the doomed fooling out of my gut. Man, Gagne is slipping, he'll be fine after some rest though.
 
Tracy seriously needs to setup a pattern for the bullpen. Sorry to say it but Gagne isnt going to be able to handle the load if he has to be pitching for 2 inning saves. Dodgers are involved in way too many close games.
