Really? I had the same thoughts about Twitter during the early years and never really got the point of it. At that time, I was arguably becoming less interested in social platforms for various reasons. Easiest would be is that while I do want to be more social. I don't want to have to manage of all these social sites, even with my participation level. Anyway, if you find that article, please share it here. I think that's interesting.

Too much is put on the circuitry of math, which is only interesting to a few individuals, and less on its power as a toolset to answer question people are more likely to be invested in. Statistics especially I feel should also be part of the base math curriculum and is something that should be hammered into kids at a young age. Such an incredibly useful field of math.

Growing up, others alongside myself (later on that is, I loved math until reasons happened) gave no fucks about Math and were NOT taught the most important nor the more useful examples and concepts regarding math. Then as we grow up and entered high ed, finally there were classes the can be used in real-life situations.

I spent most of high school and college doing calculus (which granted is a field of math with a wide range of applications), linear algebra, etc. which just weren't interesting past a certain point and really hard to apply to any question I was interested in perusing within the biological sciences (my personal interests). Now I'm at the tail end of my doctorate degree and it feels every other week I have to spend hours in the library or on Google trying to teach myself statistical techniques and programs I need to use to write my papers (and this is after already taking stats in college and graduate school). Statistics is just so broadly useful and you won't get a whiff of it until college and it will often be super generalized or superficial so you still probably need to take several stat courses to get a good enough grasp on the material. That is to say nothing of the fact that often times different research projects will often require very specific and unusual techniques that may not be adequately covered in your average class.

I also feel in general, so many people make so many poor decisions based on an inability to understand or interpret statistics properly. I truly believe that if everyone had at least a rudimentary statistics education then the average intelligence of the population would rise and they would all be much more informed voters. Our net quality of life would improve as people would make fewer dumb life decisions.

I watched a little Ed, Edd, and Eddy today and I came to a thought. I think that the Kanker sisters are going to get ran through in their adulthood and in high school. At least two of them are going to get pregnant while in high school and Ed is going to be May's babydaddy. All three of them don't amount to shit, but Marie had the best shot as she took up being a tattoo artist, but unfortunately she was introduced to heroin and meth which opened a whole world of misery for her and prevented her from getting any real success. In high school Double D had no self-esteem and thought he couldn't do any better so he dated Marie for a while. Later on when became a success in the IT field, he ran into Marie who was still yearning for his double D. She looked worse than ever as her heroin addiction took a real toll on her.
