Watched an episode of some show called The Circle of Secret or The Secret Circle whatever anyways....what did I watch? Shit made no sense to me at ALL. I was literally lost, I'm talking not even able to piece together/

One of the girls, Phoebe Tonkin is gorgeous tho.

I always wanted to play Metroid Prime, but the resale prices of that trilogy prevented that from happening.

On the MGS2>MGS3 bandwagon as well. MGS3 is only better in gameplay if you played Subsistence.

Not true. The layout of Big Shell was boring for level design and that dumbass backtracking part that even the game acknowledged, and the boss designs definitely weren't as fun as 3's.

I'll agree about the Tanker section. Memory isn't strong enough, but didn't have a problem with most bosses. Personal favorite was the one with the guy on the rolling blades and Vamp.

RE4 is most definitely the game of that generation.

MGS3 > MGS2 gameplay-wise. I appreciate what MGS2 had to say, but its gameplay pushed the original 8-bit formula as far as it could go (it and MGS1 are heavily based on the 2nd MSX game). I tried to play MGS2 on the HD collection a while back and the camera angles made it feel like the tank control RE games.

Mary Shelley's Frankenhole on [adult swim] actually had a pretty good joke around this. It was a papercraft animation series where Dr. Frankenstein made a bunch of time-travel portals (frankenholes) in addition to other scientific advantages and as a result a bunch of historic figures would come to him asking for stuff. Thomas Jefferson came to him asking for some equipment better suited to bedding his slaves (his reasoning was that "they didn't want to do anything with him because of his white dick"), so Frankenstein ends up looking through a list of famous black historic figures in the future. They start looking for a full-blooded African figure, and their decision? "Barack Obama? That's the name of a purely African fellow!"

A frankenhole? Unrelated but this reminds me of a line in the first Killzone, where Rico doesn't know "what the fuck is a Shakespeare?" is in that jungle scene. I want to play it again. I loved the random stuff the helghast shout when they are being attacked.

I'm giving the nod to Halo for the generation mostly for personal reasoning rather than any objective metric, but RE4 is definitely in the conversation.

That's actually the legend that the character (Kirikou Rung from Soul Eater, sorry for not specifying before) is based off. I thought it was pretty cool, especially since I remember having to do a short on Kirikou and the Sorceress in grade school.
