Army Men RTS on the PS2 was my first RTS ever and still my favorite. I wish there was an easy way for me to buy a legit download on PC. HD re -release would be even cooler but will probably never happen.

Wow I have never had a bad peice of chicken from Popeyes. There's so much competition in my city for chicken they have to keep the quality high.

I've actually never had Popeye's before. There's one pretty close to campus so I think I'll head down there one day.

Yes and No. And No, I didn't really have to utilize or employ some sort of "tracking" technique to find you here. I always assume anyone who hangs out in any of these "community threads" is bound to go running back to them eventually -- to complain, vent, brag, etc. to those whom he/she consider like-minded. It's a really annoying part of GAF I've grown to really dislike but hey... "Well Slayven identifies himself as black so... he probably went to black culture community thread". As to WHY I would immediately jump to this conclusion is because its become sort of a thing on GAF where folks want to avoid further confrontation or rebuttal (or seek guidance), they will traverse to the community treehouse (my name for these threads) of their liking. And yeah..

TR;DR I knew you'd come here because you're either black or identify with the african american community. Fucked up but true.

As for my post, yeah, I was looking to evoke more personal, real... responses in said thread. from anyone really. And I'm sorry I for directing my cross-hairs at you. I have an axe to grind when it comes to GAF as of late, I feel like this place is often lacking in genuine responses or opinions. Mostly because folks are too scared of being lambasted or labeled. Funny how a place that finds pride in lacking any ignorance has taken on whole another kind of prejudice.

TR;DR I don't find GAF as pleasurable as I use to...

And sorry for invading your thread and spouting nonsense. Since being unemployed, I've been spending a lot more time here... but that is going to change starting next week (just hired, new job). If you indulge too much in this place, man... anywho.

Because I'm right? ...its question you clearly could have asked in the exact same thread and you would have gotten an immediate response but you didn't. And honestly, I know you're a patron of this thread because I use to post in here when it was still in just "Off Topic".

Then why did you add the black or identifies as african american line? you know he is, so there's no need to guess.

You admitted to trolling him in your first sentence of your first post in here, why would anyone try and have a serious conversation with someone looking to just get a rise out of them?

I said Yes and No. I wasn't attempting to troll but I was looking for answer concerning blacks and LBQT issue from anyone/everyone in the thread since whole black being a hindrance thing pops up occasionally in these types of threads (as it did in that thread). And again, if he had ask in the same thread, he would have gotten an honest response -- but he choose to run to community.

I didn't know black people are one solid body that agrees on everything.

And if you really want to know, it should be quite obvious that it has much more to do with religion being more deeply ingrained within the community than black people instinctively hating the LGBT since birth.

I'm sorry for invading the thread with this nonsense. I've become overly defensive and made a spectacle of myself. Thank you for the reading material, it will be read.

double jump

you haven't lived until a random little kid ask you "how do you make love".
totally ok to have questions and a genuine interest in others cultures ect.

but when it's followed by a lair of cynicism it makes that person look low

Man anyone who takes a cursory glance at this shit would realize we have an ongoing Fried Chicken War.

So, guess this is a dating question but, has anyone here ever actually heard the "I don't date black guys" line? I feel like I've heard female friends saying how their parents wouldn't want them dating a black guy (pretty much from asians) but I don't know how much that actually affects whether or not they will, or even influences their actual opinion on black guys

One of my friends basically told me she would date one but not really marry one or bring one home. I get the feeling it's pretty common among my other friends even if they won't admit it out loud. =/. She's not racist either but she's basically always trying to appease her parents.

I've heard this from a girl of Indian descent. She told me that if she brought home a black guy, her father would go crazy.

She was dating a black guy for months at the time. I'm not sure if dude ever met the girl's father.

ironically enough, the few times I've heard "I don't date black guys" or it's variations said irl have been from fellow black people. smh

Yes and it cuts like a motherfucking dagger.
I had a chick tell me once "I don't date black guys....but we can still be friends though!" like everything was still gonna be cool. I said biiiiiiiiiiiitch! Naw I didn't.
But we weren't friends after that.

I think people generally tend to stick to what their parents teach them throughout life.
Politics, religion, race, love, etc. It's a comfort level. I get it. I don't like it but I get it.

Just off my environment I'm usually throwing game at non-black chicks, so it's always on the back of my mind. I mean you could be the greatest dude ever, and get denied just for something so trivial as race. It ain't like I decided to be black.

But it is what it is.

What's even more odd are the chicks that'll fuck a black dude, but won't date em.

Well, I've only had that experience once - and it was in my mid teens. It hurt a bit, but whatever.

As far as Asians go, before I got married, every single "work wife" I had was Asian. I have no idea as to why.

I regret nothing. :)

I had an ex in college. Same deal, ie. Indian descent. Met her brother and sister, but no way in hell I was ever going to meet her parents, they would have locked her in a trunk and driven it into the Fraser River.

This is worrying...girl I'm into right now is Indian...

meeting the parents is the worst. (havent had that problem recently w/ my cold run. not yay.)
i've long accepted that i tend to give terrible first impressions just cause i'm so fucking complex lol.
i'm joking. but i'm pretty much a posterchild for a kid that grew up between two worlds and is trying (and failing apparently lol) to find a happy medium.

Well... I can get behind that. But I always felt like the general sentiment of gay/lesbian community was that blacks or a more political correct term, African Americans (specifically the ones capable of voting), are seen as a hindrance to their cause (as I read and seen via various news outlets earlier this year concerning prop 8 was it?) regarding equality. You'll have to excuse me, I really behind the times of this type of stuff ( I live in my own little bubble). Is this still the case? I'm wondering if they actually still or ever believed that...

I was wondering when something like this would happen in this thread considering how much we talk about other threads in this thread. Anyway BrLvgThrChmstry, to begin with not everyone in this thread or in the black community identifies themselves as "African American", so you're better off calling the community black if you want to be "Politically Correct".

Also, Slayven addressed your question by telling you that the "black community" doesn't operate in a hive mind/as a collective, so why were you replying to him with a response that implies that the lesbian and gay communities also speak/act in the same fashion? People don't suddenly become ants once they identify with a community. And funny enough the same goes with GAF.

It does sound like you need a serious GAF break though so at least you recognize that.

I've never had it happen to me personally but I've heard it first hand from some of my (black) friends. I always find it funny when topics are made on GAF about the subject of people not wanting to date people in x minority group (usually involving black people) and the people are called out as being racist and some posters respond "No it's their personal preference", as if excluding an entire group of people from your dating pool based on skin tone is on the same level as "I prefer my steak well done".
