XB1's actually went for the most. You had to sell them the day before launch, or that morning though. PlayStation 4 had the longest legs.

Idk man, I think its ok if you're an early adopter to a point. When I get my PS4 I'm gonna be spending more money at a time since I'm getting the system and games I want and 2015 being as stacked as it is that's gonna hurt or I'm gonna have to put a lot shit in the back log.

I'm still pretty set on leaving the country in a few years. Nothing big has really influenced that decision either so I'm feeling more and more like its the right call.
I upgraded my PC at the end of last year, but since then I've actually bought no games you would define as "next-gen." Other than indie games or games that got definitive editions, I don't own any games that have PS4 or Xbox One versions. In fact, the earliest such release I feel is a must-buy right now is Witcher 3, which is February.

when i joined, i listed germany, italy, and the UK as my wishlist destinations - they gave me texas lol. i visited each of those places above before i joined. most before i was 20 and the experience definitely helped me pull my head out of my ass sooner than i would've otherwise. only country i've been to since i've joined the service has been mexico (more of a border patrol related type deal. no sightseeing or even downtime)
but i grew up in a very, very screwed up place in durham, nc. the rest of the US itself seemed foreign to me so a few more hours in a plane doesn't feel like that much more a stretch when i touch down for a few months
