Family, its supposed to bother you. You human. It bothered the shit out of me to walk away from a decent job because of the actions of someone else. But I realized that I am not walking away from anything beneficial because of the actions of someone else. If its a negative and it holds me back, then fuck yeah im stepping. But at the end of the day, paper is what im looking for. I can put the rest of those shitburgs on mute. Crush, I was in a situation where an overseas manager I never even met complained about me to the head of the department. First and only person ever (to this date). My immediate boss told me to ignore it, that the guy complains about everyone at some point. A few of my coworkers and managers joke about "Pete the crybaby, throwing a tantrum again." This guy you described seems like that and you're probably not the first or only person dealing with this. Keep doing excellent work and ignore petty, inconsequential shit from equally petty people. The higher ups will recognize his pattern of whining and see you're not the problem.
