Yeah looks like the dems are more divided than the republicans. Perfect sound bytes for the republicans.

What a disaster. This is bad.
More divided than the party that had to use random Trump employees to hold speeches because nobody wanted to speak at his convention? Doubt it.

Wow this idiot on msnbc right :0 "I want Jill stein or Donald trump" "Donald trump is less dangerous"

Progressives my ass

Exactly I've stopped now but all the people I know on social media who are rabid Bernie supporters have been just waiting in the wings trying to find reasons to pipe up again about not voting for Hillary.

Now all of a sudden this email leak is the straw that breaks the came's back - as if they already didn't have their minds made up. And to them who the hell cares who will suffer under Trump - they only want Bernie no matter what.

How is it more divided? Majority of Bernie supporters are planning on voting for Hillary. There will be a loud portion that doesn't want to and they probably wasn't ever going to vote for her.
Republicans will get in line. They mobilize well. She can't win if a decent chunk of the base is voting for Jill stein.

Let's see what happens at the DNC this week. The boos just now were deafening.

That was disturbing how they booed and heckled Sanders. Unbelievable. He said since the beginning he would endorse the democratic candidate. He kept his word, and hasn't betrayed anyone. He stuck to his principle, got 80% of his agenda as part of the platform. He did not deserve to get booed of stage for saying he endorsed Hillary. :(

Confirmed that DWS isn't ipening or closing the DNC. Great, one less bump on the road.

Bernie got really toxic and it spiraled out of control. But I shouldn't be worried, right mods that chastised people for being worried?

Completely agree. People throwing tantrums.

It just goes to show that some people who were a part of the Sanders camp were in it for the spectacle. I'll just hope that my belief that they're just a vocal minority is correct.

I'm convinced now more than ever that the hardcore Bernie supporters are just ex Ron Paul fanatics.

There is no way you call yourself a progressive and vote for Trump, who want to repeal the ACA and deport 11 million people.
Bingo.

And younger
immature
voters caught up in the big promises and online hype.

Then—like everything on the internet—it turned ugly.

The contingent that's progressive but not voting for Clinton is voting for Jill Stein.

Maybe 3 percent of the vote at best. Not a lot but it's there.

The last thing I want is for Trump to win anything close to an official government position, let alone the white house. That being said, a small part of me wished that Bernie did not support Clinton and campaigned all the way up to the convention. I know why he is doing it, but it's still tough to stomach after him being so against everything she stands for.

He's against everything she stands for???

No.

They actually fall in line on many issues.

You mean the 6% of the issues they don't identify on? "EVERYTHING SHE STANDS FOR"

I doubt that crowd is terribly representative of Sanders primary voters.

Though Sanders did lean on the "movement" rhetoric pretty hard in the primary. And movements hate traitors, so anybody who bought into that heavily enough may just be that crazy.

She can win depending on the " chunk", like I said a majority of Bernie supporters already voting for her and depending on the state, she doesn't need every Bernie supporter. Jill Stein last election got around 500,000 votes she isn't going to be a spoiler.

The focus on some people in the convection that are being silly is getting ridiculous as if those people means that the whole party is divided. That's pretty stupid.

That just makes them single issue voters: End the oligarchy. Most of American's are good hearted, sensible people and democracy will be much more acute with special interests playing a smaller role. Getting rid of the war on drugs, profit prisons, police quotas and current property seizure laws will do a lot for minorities in poverty. More so than some weak sauce body camera laws that would just end up enriching the company selling the cameras and server space.

Trump is a joke. My disdain for the current democratic party brass is not an endorsement for Trump.

Well, these are the same idiots who started throwing chairs and booing sitting Democratic Senators in Nevada when they weren't allowed to steal extra delegates they had not earned because none of them got out of bed in time to make the opening gavel.

Hopefully they don't fuck this up, but Sanders seems to have created a mob not a movement.

*most* Bernie voters don't feel this way, but I worry the delegates to the national convention are basically Occupy Wallstreet and Ron Paul crazies.

Bernie himself enabled these people for months. It's partly (mostly?) his fault.

And this is why prior losers of primaries try to unite the party early and usually don't go crazy attacking the other side.

At the end of the day everyone is on the same damn side. Bernie should have toned down the rhetoric early on, instead he whipped his supporters to such a fervor that now they are out of control.

Of course the DNC didn't help.

Yep. He may not have started the fire, but he certainly kept fanning the flames until it was out of control

To be fair, that began early on when a Trump candidacy was almost an impossibility.

Once the primaries started and Trump started winning the genie was already out of the bottle.

He kept fanning the flame long after Trump had become the presumptive nominee, and a Trump win was incredibly likely long before that as well

The average voter doesn't give a shit about that. Outside of the initial roll call kerfuffle, Trump was cheered. If Hillary is booed during her speech it will look terrible.

What chair throwing?

This kind of bullshit is what pisses me off about current politics. Do you even understand what you are saying? A HUGE chunk of Republican party didn't even go to the convention! Dems are not even close to being as divided as Republicans. This isn't even the same league. Sure, something could go horribly wrong and Bernie might not endorse Clinton, but even then you will have more Top people showing up than to RNC!

I realize that this is stupid thing to be pissed off about but statements like the one you just made is the reason why people live in 2 different realities. One of them created by Fox News. They basically take this approach and apply it to everything from immigration to economy... Nothing has to be true anymore, you can just say it's true enough times and people will believe it.

Don't get caught up in the antics of Bernie's delegates and supporters at the DNC. Polls show the majority of Bernie supporters have fallen in line to support the Dem candidate. This is all theatrics that represent a small subset of Bernie voters.

Not only did they not throw chairs, I'm pretty sure John Ralston got fired for saying they did.

That small subset are some loud barking dogs, mang.

No one threw a chair. I can't believe people still think this. It's sad how mods here on neogaf can't discern lies.

Chair thing never really happened.

And I hope that they'll be as insignificant as Occupy Wall Street and Ron Paul crazies.
