The E3 '08 Sony Prediction and Discussion Thread

Jeez the 80 gig being announced 399 would be megaton enough. How is that list disappointing in anyway? There are also plenty of gameplay clips and such on there too.

and searching it said PSN maintenance? So i guess prepping up for E3? ;o

Yeah, I get the same. Euro PSN if that matters. I got no luck (obviously) in WH earlier either. Dammit.

Me 3, (said it in 2006 and 2007). Some good games/stuff, but not what was "implied" by Sony since the console's launch.

I think they're covering that very well. A new controller would not hurt their goals for profitability. It's just expanding their demo.

They still have a lot to improve such as more Japanese support and third party PSN content.

They are still lacking in those 2 departments.

Of course E3 ain't exactly what you call the right time for the first problem, but they could easily address the second problem with announcements this week.

I also, agree they need to work on PSN and overall integration before a new peripheral
 
I have to admit, I am not at all excited about this E3 for the PS3. Sometimes I forget I even own a PS3. All my current most wanted games bar LBP are on the laptop I have yet to buy.

I want this conference to turn it around.

Consoles need longer more in depth and replayable games to warrant their price tags. I get more play time out of Diablo 2, an 8 year old game, than I do Metal Gear Solid 4.

That means more side quests, customisation and persistent online features across the board in console video games.
 
I just hope we get some(any kind) of info on..

- Gran Turismo 5
- White Knight Cronicles
- Final Fantasy XIII

The rest would just be icing on the caek.
The Square-Enix show is today isn't?

Something I'm hoping for, but is around an 86% chance of NOT happening, is a Silent Hill: Homecoming demo. I watched the SH:H feature on Qore and I'm sorry, I think it looks fucking awesome.

Ha I thought the same thing. Game looks so damn scary and the graphics are actually quite good.

I don't think the graphics are mind-boggingly amazing, but they couldn't be done on PS2 either. I think it looks just good enough for a this-gen Silent Hill, at least for a first effort by a company outside of Konami.

Yeah good enough to scare the shit out of me and thats really all I am asking for.
 
My prediction is that they will announce full software emulation for PS2 games, with classic games available for download shortly after the firmware update.

I was going to make a thread about this. It seems they've gone back to the earlier model of Alex (a good thing) and the graphics are pretty good too.
