Can you disable Crossfire to see if that helps for now?catapult37 said:man, I am seeing some nasty texture / geometry issues in the opening scene. If i slowly look down toward the ground, the whole ground switches between 3 texture layers, back again if i look up. entire world objects (ie a banner on a pole) will pop in and out as I look around. there's an event during the intro that causes a lot of post-processing effects / blur, and i don't believe they got properly removed cause my vision stayed messed up a long time. and one time, a dude had a transparent torso.

WTF Bethesda? I'm giving this game a rest until they sort some shit out. Back to Uncharted.
Edit: frame rate is quite good though at 1080p...

Thanks! Will try when I get home.MickeyKnox said:system ram
Corky said:Also people messing with uGrids, are you having flickering shadows/textures on mountains far in the distance? Any fix to this?
Yes, it works just fine. The grass comes out a bit too dark though, it's almost black. Dunno if it's something on my end...datamage said:Has anyone tried this yet? NVIDIA Ambient Occlusion
BigJiantRobut said:I have this and I haven't even messed with uGrids. Luckily it's only really happening with one set of mountains in particular, in the East.
catapult37 said:I've been trying to find out where to get that profile... I downloaded Radeon pro but i don't see it on their site or in the tool.

I've discovered i'm being cpu limited (all four cores around ~95%), but it's still disappointing, given that BF3 generally had similar performance or better while looking far better. Skryim is fluctuating very wildly for me as far as fps is concerned, with probably the least consistent framerate of anything i've played all year.
Zefah said:Hrmm, I'm putting the FOV setting in the General section of Skyrim.ini, but it's not taking effect in game. Anything else I should try that doesn't involve the console?
MrBelmontvedere said:so, can someone with the game tell me if it takes advantage of quad cores or just dual?

How many FPS did it eat?zephervack said:I went with 9, good compromise and not as hungry
zephervack said:Holy crap, for Crossfire users, in radeon pro leave the Force CrossfireX Profile empty and select Alternate Frame REndering as the MVPU mode, DRAMATIC increase in performance.
Breaks ENB series and my characters face flashes a bit but its completly worth it!
Durante said:Regarding FoV, this is what I read / tested:
- the .ini entry doesn't work
- the console command does, and it is stored when saving
- using a console command disables achievements for that session
Thus:
- set desired fov using the console
- save
- restart the game and load
Would be the required sequence to get a larger FoV and still earn achievements.

I'll test it again. (it's pretty hard to try it since once you have an achievement you can't just reload and get it again) In any case, it's clear that changing FoV via the console does not disable achievements forever, and that's the main point.coopolon said:This has not been my experience. Unless maybe it also counts as a new session when you load a new room? I changed my fov, walked into a room, and completed a quest and got an achievement.

DOO13ER said:Got Skyrim loaded up and I think I'll mostly be sticking with the high settings the game has recommended for me; everything looks sharp and crisp enough for my tastes while the framerate seems to be averaging in the 40-50 fps range. The only gripe I have is that whenever I move my character (even just to look around) there's this visual... flickering? Stuttering? Not really sure what to call it but it's a rather annoying effect that happens whenever things are moving. Anyone had this problem?
