Damn, I can't do this anymore. I think I'm going to start old Skyrim again. I really don't see the point of playing this version on PC, plus ENB mods may not even come out going by the discussion on the main site.

There's a lot of reasons this should become the main version for mods. The PC version of this was needed with the stability and 64bit improvements.

Sooo, Empire, Stormcloacks or neither?

Stormcloaks every time.

The people from the North with the funny accents that want independence from the pansies who are running their country from the capital of the old empire hundreds of miles away.

Stormcloaks every time.

Lore Spoilers ahead.

The Empire are trying to
re-gain their strength anticipating a second great war against the Thalmor, which want to destroy all mortal races of Nirn (specially men) and pretty much end creation because they think they'll become immortal spirits as they presumably once were.

Ulfric was pretty much
set up by the Thalmor so he would rebel and weaken the Empire even further.

Who do you think you should help?

It's hard not to side with people trying to free their country though!

But hey, I'm an elf, so what do I care? All I want is to gain acess to the dungeon that has the slow shout anyway (I think siding with one of them is the only way to gain access).

If you want to make Skyrim's boring combat more interesting check out Wildcat - Combat of Skyrim:
XB1
PC
Nexus

Enemy AI is better, stamina more important and fights are generally more deadly.
If you don't like stagger and injuries you can disable them with a power you get.

It's my favorite combat mod ^_^

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
When it's back will nexus detect installed mods from the Bethesda launcher?

Also, these mods on the Bethesda launcher are the original creators, right?

The proud, independent Nords will stand strong and save everyone from the Dominion.

Believe.
The Nords are my favorite but I doubt it, only a re-invigorated Empire with a coalition of races behind it can challenge the Thalmor IMO.

No need, you just need to take the Jagged Crown quest from the Jarl of Winterhold for the first word, one of the words is only available through the Collegue questline though.

Edit: Yeah, the crown quest is a faction quest but both for Imperials and Stormcloaks.

Playing without mods on Xbox One S, currently doing the College of Winterhold questline after playing the first few main quests (unlock all 3 parts of unrelenting force). I'm a High Elf Destruction Mage, pretty tough to be honest as I'm wearing robes so no armour.

Never played this way before so feels completely new, usually play stealth bow/daggers Wood Elf.

Invest in Alteration. The ____flesh spells (Oak, Stone, etc) give you great armor boosts in combat.

You're the goddamn Dragonborn. It's not about who you pick, it's about who picks you.

If you've no idea about what that choice means, just go with your gut feeling.

Personally, on my first time through, I opted for the faction that didn't try to give my character a "shave" in the opening sequence.

I played like that before, then I went to try the conjuration tree, holy fuck is it broken. Kinda thankful that the AI doesn't exploit that tree like players can

Can someone explain how to figure out the correct load order for mods? I've been a console gamer all my life so my experience with mods is extremely limited. I want to try quite a few mods but apparently the load order can affect how the game runs, so some help would be appreciated. I'm specifically looking at the unofficial patch, the open cities, the alternate start, ars metallica, ring of increased carry weight, the forgotten city, lampposts of skyrim, belt-fastened quivers and lore based loading screens but may go for more.

Edit: lol, just after I type this someone makes a Skyrim mods thread.

Wow i went back and tried Skyrim on 360. I have no idea how people can live with the terrible performance on last gen and current gen consoles. Its terrible. I can never play it that way after playing the pc version!

After so many years, game is still so awesome. Skyrim was my first RPG ever. Before that I just used to avoid playing RPGs.
So I spent first few hours making sense of wtf is a level tree, reading about dungeons, crafting, quests etc. I beat the game by siding with Empire. Married Ysolda. And believe it or not, I beat the game on PS3 lol.

Now I am siding with Stormcloaks and will marry that warrior chick. This game is just amazing. I remember almost every quest, and will do different things this time. Also I never beat the dlcs, now I plan to beat them too.

But the game runs absolutely fine on X1 and Ps4. The last gen versions were...yeah
I think this remaster is pretty great. Aside from the character models it looks beautiful

I already am not liking it. borderless window is acting strange, it doesn't support 4:3, the highest resolution it lets me open is like 1440x800.

and then using a gameplay, the horizontal sensitivity is like 5x stronger than vertical... so it feels awful to control. I don't remember the normal version being anything like this

then, to top it all off, you can't just switch back to keyboard and mouse at will... you know, like fucking 2$ indie games can.
blah. free upgrade and so far it's been more frustrating than the original game ever was. I don't get it.

edit: aaaand it fucking crashed right after I made my character and probably didn't save

I'm siding with the Empire this time, because I went Stormcloaks the first time, so I know how that goes. I'm looking forward to seeing the other side.

I'm also playing a different character than I did the first time, using different weapons, more emphasis on archery and 2-h, less emphasis on destruction magic, more sneaking and light armor, plus a different race (Dark Elf rather than Redguard). I'm also trying to role-play it more this time, avoiding things that wouldn't be consistent with my character.

I haven't installed any mods yet. I've never used mods before, so I'm going to wait a while. I'm concerned about a mod possibly screwing something up and having to re-do a section.

I'm enjoying it. I can definitely notice the improved visuals. No performance issues on PS4 that I've seen.

I wonder if Bethesda will fix bugs that have been in the game since the original edition, or if they're just gonna call it a day after they've removed every bug that wasn't in the original.

Also while it might not be a considered a bug, I really hope they fix the "vampires kill all NPCs because Dawnguard" now that we can't disable the expansions separately.

I also discovered the first thing I never saw before - there's a smuggler camp in the north cliff side beneath Dragonsreach.

Townsfolk AI:

"Our town is under attack by vampires! Should we run for our lives, let the guards and that Dragonborn fellow take care of it?"

"Nah, that's for pussies, MOB 'EM!"

They indeed proceed to mob the vampires which they have no hope of killing, and I can no longer attack them because I'll end up killing the NPCs. Good job, idiots.

Bandit AI:

"Holy shit, there's a dude fighting a dragon! What should we do?"

"Let's try to kill and rob him! We'll charge right in when the dragon is breathing fire at him, what could possibly go wrong?"

Dragon AI:

"Oh look, it's the Dragonborn! I'm gonna... SQUIRREL! KILL THE SQUIRREL!"

The Unofficial Patch already fixes so many bugs I doubt they'll bother with any fixes of their own.

What difficulty do people recommend? I remember when I originally played it I went with default and it seemed a little easy, but I didn't get far enough to find out how hard it gets.

Also are the difficulty trophies/achievements for completing the game?
