The First Descendant Is Ending Support For Last Gen Consoles After Less Than A Year
It comes on the back of the game having its worst month ever.

- The First Descendant is ending support for PS4 and Xbox One to focus on player satisfaction.
- Last-generation consoles will no longer have access to the game after June 19.
- Players can continue their progress on other consoles with cross-save functionality.
In a recent developer livestream, The First Descendant team confirmed that support for The First Descendant would be discontinued on PS4 and Xbox One from June 19, two weeks before the game's first anniversary.
It cited the fact that it had "increased the scale" of the game and that the team was spending "a lot of effort and difficulty maintaining the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One builds," for the discontinuation. The team continued by saying, "Since season 3 is a 'mega season' update for us, so we wanted to focus our development team on increasing player satisfaction."
The end-of-life support doesn't just mean that the PS4 version and Xbox One version of the game will receive no further updates; instead, the game will be completely delisted from those platforms, and players will no longer be able to play the game on those consoles. Thankfully, dedicated players on those platforms will be able to take their progress to other consoles with The First Descendant's cross-save functionality.
