Three out of fifty one districts and only one if out-of-bounds on age!

I have a serious problem* with characterizing the U.S. stance on sibling incest as:

"Also surprisingly intimate relationships between siblings isn't flat out outlawed in the U.S." and mere "marriage restrictions."

When it is outlawed in 50 of 51 districts and incest is defined as sexual intimacy (not marriage) in ALL jurisdictions.

*Not with you personally, but I don't want anyone getting the idea that they can go off and copulate with their sibling without repercussion in the U.S. because they're not getting married.

I gotta say, that's one damn strange pagetopper.

So, has anyone wondered if they'll have some speed force excuse to get Barry into a multiverse situation at some point where he meets Tom Welling Superman?
Wouldn't it be more fun that in order to get back he had to get help from Smallville universe Green Arrow, just think of the fun conversation with Arrow universe Ollie about his other self :D.

So long as we're doing wishes... Tiffany Smith is a correspondent and presenter for DC All Access and a number of other genre podcasts / shows. A pretty nerdy woman who loves comics. She looks like this:

She kinda resembles Candice Patton and I wouldn't mind a terrible B-plot where she guest stars, hooks up with Barry, and triggers jealousy in Iris with their similarities. Oye... I'm writing fan fiction.

I... I've been up too long. :P

We might just be witnesssing the birth of this thread version of Wozzly.

I don't think its unreasonable but I just don't think those things are spoilers. You go to imdb and Robbie Amell is listed as
Firestorm first Reynolds second.
The casting announcements were the same I think.
His secret identity isn't a spoiler and the fact he isn't dead isn't a spoiler.

Now Caitlin might be a spoiler seeing as she isn't the first Killer Frost in the comics. The previous incarnation might end up taking the mantle. But considering she has a relationship with Reynolds on the show its not a huge mystery.

I think it's pretty simple. Has it been revealed in the actual show yet? No? Then it's a spoiler.
The twist of Caitlin's husband being alive and eventually becoming a superpowered superhero are absolutely spoilers. No idea why they wouldn't be.

And we generally put the spoilery bits from casting articles behind spoiler tags like this.

Stupid phone keyboard. Yup its my phones fault.

I hate spoiler semantics discussions because they don't add anything to the thread. But seriously if The CW announces it in their press releases its not a spoiler.
Thanos is in GOTG.

WHAT THE FUCK THANOS?

the collective awfulness of Man of Steel and Green Lantern is enough to overpower the quality of the Nolan Batmans

Please, Green Lantern isn't even the worst comic-book film released this decade. That is, hands down, Thor 2. Which has a terrible villain, borderline sexist female characters, and the most absurd 'does stuff for reasons' macguffin I've ever seen.

The Dark Knight is certainly better written, shot, acted, and directed than any superhero/comic book TV show I've ever seen.

For what it's worth, I'm digging The Flash.

I think it's kind of unfair to compare movies that have a higher budget for two, two and a half hours than a TV show has over the course of 17 or so hours and able to film for months as opposed to TV where they film an episode in around a week.

So, has anyone wondered if they'll have some speed force excuse to get Barry into a multiverse situation at some point where he meets Tom Welling Superman?

Tom Welling as Clark Kent? Tom Welling has zero interest in wearing the suit and well being Superman at all. Besides that, Welling has lost a fair bit of weight, even during Smallville's last couple seasons he wasn't as big or in shape as he use to be.

The CW releases press releases with detailed plot summaries of episodes that don't air for weeks. Those are spoilers too.

And yeah, they do add things to the thread. People don't feel the need to leave and not read it because other people can't put in the slightest effort required to not ruin shit for them about a TV show they like.

Better written? As in dialogue? Sure. Plot-wise? Nope.
And no ammount of nice direction, acting and specia effects can make up for how short thoe movies are. I love Nolan's Batman, but it's not a real Batman. it'; just a guy in a suit, who beat two big villains in a year and then did a little encore appereance before dissapearing completely.

Also...as funny as it is, Arrow has a lot better action than Batman trilogy.

There's no discussion about what is and what's not spoilers. The things that aired aren't. Everything else is.

Wait, The Dark Knight is 2 1/2 hours long, and The Dark Knight Rises is close to 3. Batman Begins, ~2 hours 20 min.

Those are some long movies. And he certainly does some Batmaning in all three.

Oh..those are long movies. But they're still movies and that medium suck for telling superhero stories. Nolan managed to limit the damage of it nicely ,but it still was visible. Dark Knight avoided it the most becaue Joker was completely random and crazy.
Meanwhile, DKR was hurt badly by being merely 3 hours long. The most interesting thing about the whole story - Gotham under siege, had to be completely ignored because there was no more time left.

So Killer Frost... is a villain, but will she be a hero here then?

Killer Frost has traditionally been an unrepentant villain but her more recent comic outings have been mellowing that out way more and making her more sympathetic, re: she needs to steal the warmth from people to not feel the endless cold so sometimes that need to become normal again overwhelms her.

Aye. Basically she'd be fine if she and Firestorm were together 24/7, but the two never quite click in that way.

To clarify and reaffirm what others have pointed out: material that hasn't aired yet in an episode should be behind spoiler tags. This includes previews/promos, promo photos, casting news, and loglines (episode summaries). This is how things usually work on TV-GAF. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a PM and we can discuss. Thanks.

Lol

This is hard to take seriously.

No one else is getting Smallville / early Agents of SHIELD vibes from this? I'm not feeling it so far.

I do like Barry tho. And the powers look good enough. I just want some Arrow S1 overarching storyline. Feels like monster of the week to me. Plus that team at Star Labs just doesn't have that chemistry just yet.

The dude suits up and becomes the Flash in 2 episodes... that's the complete opposite of Smallville lol.

I guess I get what you mean with the whole monster of the week thing (I'm not a fan of that format either), but hopefully the overarching story of "Who killed Barry's mother and how/why?" Becomes more pronounced soon.

I don't mind the spoilers for comic book shows like these, the fun is in the anticipation and execution, and people who about the lore already have an idea on where this Flash storyline is going.

Game of Thrones on the other hand, I go into media blackout.

Which is kinda funny. You're in a topic about a fantastic show made by the Green Lantern guys.

Wasn't their original script supposed to be great before other people started meddling with it? AFAIR it was pretty much all in space after he turned GL

I just finished watching Arrow, so I suppose I should try this next. How is it?

It's Arrow but way more superpowers and less dark.
It's been getting fantastic reception, ratings and reviews.

Yep pretty much.
It sucks that we ended up with what we got.

Guggenheim has said that yes, but Berlanti was a producer on the movie, so he should have had more control.

Everything I've read about the movie points to massive studio interference all the way through. Try to shoehorn a jumpstart for a shared DCU, trying to work costs down, the casting, everything.

In hindsight, it's hard to blame any of the creative people for the result.

For those interested in the comics, DC announced their January variant theme will be The Flash appearing in parodies of classic comic covers to celebrate the character's 75th anniversary.

My personal favorite:

We're going to get that "falls in love with my superhero identity" trope with Iris and the Flash, aren't we...

Considering that's Lois's schtick, and Iris is nothing but the poor man's Lois Lane...yes.

I actually am coming to like the idea of the show and movie being separate despite how much I love Grant Gustin as the role. It gives them more than plenty of time to take criticism from the TV show and implement it into the movie. As the show goes on the script would only be able to improve.
