ITT - Iris gets lied to about everything in this season, her not liking the fact that she's been lied to the whole season and her reactions to it is by far the most egregious thing to happen which makes her the worst character

How do human emotions work?

GAF never ceases to amaze

I think, the main hate with Iris, is this kind of things. The actress is fine but her writing is terrible and affects her.

I don't understand how this is even a fault of the character, let alone a reason to hate her.

Do we really -- really, really -- need the scene of Iris getting in the door of Star labs? Is it important to the story? Does it move anything forward? Or is it one of those things like who the checks the tires on the Bat-mobile?

I understand the joke of it, but nothing indicates this is a high security facility.

The main cost in CG is paying the artists to do what they have to do. The more elaborate the sequence, the more time and energy they need to put into it. Which means more money.

So basically what you're saying is there's a possibility that you can get good cgi for cheap if the artist is good but doesn't demand much.

How does Iris just manage to walk in to their super secret high tech lab over and over. Is she like "it's cool, my brother is in there" to the security guard?

I mean...yes? In the same sense that you can get anything good if you find someone who does it well and doesn't ask for a lot? But like, thats not particularly likely

Grodd was great, and the episode was enjoyable but I couldn't help but feel like I would have enjoyed it more if the Wells confrontation hadn't already happened. A bit of stalling for time, in the show and for us.

I always figured everyone just walked in and out of STAR Labs. Doesn't seem like anyone has had a problem getting in. Place only has three employees anyway.

Actually, who is paying the bills now? Do they even have access to all the paperwork? Electrical bills for that thing sound like a huge pain.

I think the pacing has been pretty good. There are so many reveals they could have dragged out. From finding out Wells is Reverse to Iris finding out about Barry. They pretty much revealed it within an episode of the people finding out.

Great episode.

Grodd was pretty decent when he was mostly in darkness. I'm glad they've established him now while they still have a decent budget to do it though. In future, they should probably stick to short, quick shots of him with the implication that he's manipulating someone telepathically as was shown this episode.

Loved the banana scene. You just knew how it was going to play out, but it was still funny.

Red eyed Wells is still creepy as fuck.

Goddamn, Wells destroyed Eddie with those truth bombs. Damn. The show is not going to be the same with him gone, it's like Batiatus from Spartacus all over again...one character is just so well acted and written that the show suffers when they depart.

Iris was pretty great this episode, I liked that she didn't drag it out and went straight to the source to have it out with Barry. Also loved her dropping bombs everywhere. Didn't come off as annoying . More of this Iris please. Her squinting was somewhat distracting though...

Godd/Flash fight was pretty great, but again, it did highlight the not so great CG for Grodd. Seemed to work much better when he shrouded in darkness...

Not sure about the ending shot of Grodd randomly leaping off a building. Ridiculous really, but the the speed tunnel reveal (I assume that's what it is) was pretty interesting.

Can't watch anything with Tom Cavanagh in it now without seeing the Reverse Flash. That ep in Scrubs when JD finds out Elliot is hooking up with his brother.

IT WAS ME ALL ALONG JD

Another fantastic episode.

Surely the finale doesn't end with Flash killing Eobard?

Wonder what'll happen to Eddie too.

Isn't future Barry still in this timeline? Thawne couldn't go back and that paper from 2024 mentions how Flash is still missing.

Keep in mind, we haven't seen his origin yet. We don't know why he hates Flash so much (at least on the show).

In general, though, his mindset is simply that all these people are already dead to him, and have been dead for centuries, so none of it really matters and none of it is "real". Recall that he keeps telling people that he's killing exactly that.

In the comics,
he idolized Flash and came back to the past to meet him. However, he discovered that instead of being Flash's friend he was destined to become the Reverse-Flash and it broke him psychologically. He kind of went insane.

Basically a case of never meet your idols

I doubt that's where their going with this, hopefully we do get to see Eobard's motivation

The presumption was that future Barry went back to the future and with no access to the speed force, Thawne lost his powers, hence why he moved up the time that the accident affected Barry.

ah, alright.

I was hoping for 2 Grants, 1 Thawne fight scene

I don't know why Flash Prime would leave a supervillain in the past doing what he pleases with the timeline though.

Good ep.

Not sure how Grodd stopped the sonic punch thing though.
I don't quite remember, but what was the punch compared to the first time he did it? I thought it'd be stronger than a train.

Like, I was thinking...

dunno, he could've pulled a pipe and blown steam, blinding barry a bit. Or kicked up some water at him lol.
I just don't feel he should've been able to straight up stop it if it was really that strong. A tiny nitpick.

Hope someone can help me out here. I stopped watching Arrow and Flash both at ep 9 last year. Since I heard that they both intertwine a lot, what's the best order to watch them in now?

Usually best to watch Flash epi, then Arrow ep, and so on. Though you already seen the 1st major cross-over anyways, so you don't have to worry much. Flash has a bunch of cross-overs from Arrow/etc within last 6 or so episodes of the season, but is self contained and won't directly effect Arrow/etc.

However, when it comes to the cross-overs from Arrow to Flash, it might be good to keep up with both shows at same time, as those cross-overs spoil things in Arrow (from small to major things) if you don't keep up with Arrow.

going back and forth between both. if you are dead set on watching one and then the other though arrow would spoil less of flash (just one very big thing as far as I can remember) compared to the flash which spoils everything from arrow season 3.

.

Also, this way you get the Great Episodes of Flash counteracting Season 3 of Arrow.

Goddamn they really pulled of Grodd in this episode. Although the Iris stuff dragged a bit they still managed to handle it relatively well. Plus, Wells insulting Eddie was worth every second.

I'm wondering if Wells is hoping to
use Eddie and the accelerator to create a first Reverse Flash - he could be lying about him being forgotten by history, and he may only do it to take his power from him.. his mind games, showing Iris weds Barry, would mean Eddie also has the motivation to take his frustrations out on Barry when he's eventually rescued and set in motion a great Thawne v Allen rivalry...

or maybe the accelerator is purely to charge himself up and he has a differend end-game in mind...

either way I can't wait to find out :)
