So is every character they've introduced on this show eventually a superhero?

Iris and Joe aren't. And Barry's dad. Other than that, yeah everyone is named after characters that become heroes or villains. But the producers have said that their naming and role doesn't mean they will have the same fate as in the comics. They are open to changing things.

For example, in the comics, the Black Canary was Laurel. In Arrow, it is Sara.
Though that seems to be correcting itself.

Ok, I'm in the middle of watching today's episode, and something really bothered me.

In a previous episode, Barry could move so fast that he was able to have a 15 second monologue while standing in front of Iris, without her even noticing he moved.

And yet, the bad guys are able to somehow land punches on Barry.
Cmonnnn

Welcome to the wonderful world of The Flash.

bad guys are able to tag him, it's just something you have to live with.

For that matter, in the first episode, Barry's running his street clothes and friction causes them to start smoking. Here, he does his superhero thing in the beginning and his clothes are just fine

3/3 on the stingers, guys.

Stinger started with Wells in the chair, ended with him standing during the flashback. Also taking the glasses off. And smirking. I hope we have 23 of these by the end of the season.

If we don't get another Wells getting out of his chair to do something scene at the end I'm going to be disappointed.

=D

He's 3 for 3 on standing out of the wheelchair lol if the flashbacks count

It counts with me! Devious Wells closing out the episode every week, I hope it keeps up.

Dinah Laurel Lance was the second Canary though with the first being her mother Dinah Drake Lance, they just moved it from being her mom to being her show created sister.

T-Bag is Clock King. He was on Arrow.

Also going to be in a future episode of this show.

So do I.... So do I. After three episodes in a row it best be an early tradition for this show.

Joe is the shittiest detective ever. He was working the case Nimbus came from and was still trying to figure out who the mist guy was? Sure, maybe the death sentence may have threw him off but you would think that maybe he would notice his death sentence was on the same day as the explosion and that would tip him off?

Still my most favorite show by far this season, but that really rubbed the wrong way.

I see people are getting excited about "fire and ice".

As someone who knows little about the comic books, can someone tell me what they're foreshadowing?

Caitlin Snow is Killer Frost in the comics a villain and Ronnie Raymond is Firestorm in the comics a hero

He is dropping way too many hints that he is
Professor Zoom

Flash obsession, possible time travel, desire to make Flash a better hero.

Before the "fire and ice" line I was expecting Kaitlyn to end her previous line with "cold" as the nod and then BAM swerved, it was the second one.

So yeah... The whole Iron Heights prison thing is bugging me, Central City is already established as being 600 miles away from Starling and Iron Heights is in or very near Starling and Keystone in this universe is somewhere in between. It's, like a homage to the general geographical mess of where DC's cities are located but with a prison that's somehow close enough for it to have been affected by
the earthquake
in Arrow's first season and also close enough that characters in the Flash seem to take be able to take fairly quick trips to that don't take a whole day to go there and back. There's like, no way young Barry would manage to make it that far by himself without being caught, regardless of that line they threw in with this episode. Maybe they have a super fast rail system that's never been shown? Or maybe the prison is like The Simpsons Springfield, near everything... I'm really over thinking this.

I like that his last name just happens to be Nimbus, those crazy Golden Age era comic writers. I don't think he has a firm grasp on it all yet and that'd be a fairly large leap to make. To be fair, he did figure out his Iris and Eddie were dating. *cough*

I think my favorite thing tonight was Barry blurring his face so his dad didn't recognize him. Awesome.

Oh yeah, I can't believe it's taken this long for that to be shown in live action or animation I'm sure the Flash had done it plenty of times but it was also one of the things that Superman would supposedly do at one time (or at least by one writer) so there wouldn't be clear pictures of his face.

Meh episode. The mist effect was neat though. And I hope every episode ends with Wells doing some nefarious shit. Dude's the MVP of this show.

Grant Gustin sounded like he was crying while doing the narration this episode.

Does Flash have a villain that is Blue and/ Red smoke because they gotta stretch that smoke FX like mortal kombat with their ninjas

Ollie-look-a-like is gonna be a super hero or villain. He's gonna be Purple Smoke

I don't have a problem with Iris, she is just... there. Like Lois Lane is there in Superman.

I don't think they will follow the comic. I think they will make the girl be a hero and not a villain
