Rubens will never retire.

Yeah I don't think he will after everything he said over the last few months.

I think EJ was right when he said that it would be painful to see him forced out rather than bowing out, though. He's still a good driver but he has to face the fact his time is running out.

Then he should join the BBC team and talk shit about Schumacher every week <3

The 1999 BAR is a real shame. If it was the 555 livery all over it would look awesome, if it was lucky strike all over it would look quite good, but half and half is terrible.

Booked for Silverstone 2012!

I can't wait for Austin tickets to become available. I'd love to see what the grandstand layout will be so I can try to determine where I want to sit. If hotel prices jump to 300$ a night (even for the "cheap" motels) like they did when the date was set for the summer I'll just find a hotel outside of San Antonio and drive.

Oh crap or good:

Williams loses AT&T, probably as Qatar National Bank comes aboard.

Also Schumi turns 43yrs old tomorrow!

Speaking of liveries, here are some of the worst.

http://richardsf1.com/2010/10/17/top-10-ugly-liveries/

Some of them are a tad harsh. The Earth Honda looked amazing!

& I would love to see a pink F1 car these days :D

EDIT: Infact I have nothing better to do at 3am

Looks better than the black and gold Renault/Lotus.

Blerugh! Bring back the yellow.

Are you serious!? The Black/Gold looks amazing! So "rich." McLaren usually has a good looking car, Team Caterham has nice colours, Sauber is basically a different coloured Brawn with nothing on it, Ferrari as per usual, Red Bulls (STR) included are nothing special although the yellow nose reminds me of a platypus bill...What else? Virgin/Marussia...meh, HRT...eek, Williams has a beautiful simple but elegant livery and Force India's 2009 car I believe I loved. It looked so muscular.

Anywho, I've started posting in the motorsport thread!

PURE will have a 2014 spec engine on the dyno in July.

Completely forgot about them. It's a good sign that they are actually making progress though, although no teams have signed up with them yet.

what is PURE?

I really hope Rubens will get his 20th season.

Just so Schumacher can beat his record. :lol

completely off topic, but there are people that race F1 rc cars. Look how much attention to detail they have on these.

what is PURE?

The new engine manufacturer set up by Craig Pollock (of BAR). Gilles Simon is the chief designer who was previously was the head of Ferrari engine design and then the FIA's engine director. Their engines will be built by Mecachrome who also built the Renault engines.

It's a ridiculous flight of fancy and nothing significant will come out of this I'm afraid. Pollock is on the same level as Wirth and Windsor in terms of reliability.

Their problem is they won't have any teams to supply. I think they will get a few engines on a dyno then realise that no one cares and just fold.

It shouldn't really make much difference, if any, to be fair. By the time he left the FIA he would have seen only very early iterations of the teams designs, and probably only the I4 engines before they agreed to switch to V6.

They will sound just fine.

As for many fans’ fears that the sound will be disappointing, Cowell disagrees. With a rev limit of 15,000 the engines will scream and with six exhaust pipes going into one turbocharger Cowell believes it will sound “very nice.” He’ll find out soon as Mercedes are shaping up to do their first run on the dyno in the coming months.
