Jarno is probably all but done. Dude has not been competitive this year, and whenever Lotus/Caterham have been running up well mid-pack, it's been Heikki behind the wheel.

Busy week. Still have to watch BBC forum. Just read Räikkönen is back. Fuck yeaaaah. I hope Renault can give him à good car. I was such à fan off him after Mika left McLaren.

KIMI !!!!! Never thought I would see Schumi back let alone Kimi. Please, for the sake of the internet, record this man's every action during next season. Need more classic drunk Kimi.

This doesn't make the death of the Austin GP any better but it helps take a little sting away.

Amazing news. Kimi is one of the best "natural" drivers I have seen and also the most interesting. Shame his car will not be that great so he probably won't win much if any... But still this makes the sport a lot more interesting to me.

I'm afraid half of F1-GAF is going to turn into rampant Kimi fanboys next year.
Generally, I've found that many of the Kimi fanboys on the internet are actually fangirls. I've never seen any other F1 driver garner such adulation from the opposite sex. James Hunt was another, but his time in F1 is before my time.

If Renault make produce a car as good as the car they had in 2010 then Kimi will be fine.

Imagine Kimi and Kubica as team mates? :(

All members of my community are hailing his return because of the following reasons:

- he's an official drunkyard and alcoholiado
- he doesn't give a damn about anything
- he's one mean sarcastic egoist who pranks media
- he's damn, damn good driver as long as he's inspired in Sunday
- and since he's drunkyard, egoist sarcast and prankman who manages to be one of the best F1 drivers of the all times, you just have to admire him and wish you were him just for a day

Pretty much James Hunt reincarnated then.

The two kings of Spa squaring off again; Schumacher and Kimi.

in two crappy cars hahahaha... I hope Mercedes is more competitive next year. We don't want them to pull out of the sport or pull a Renault

If Renault give Kimi a good car and he gets at least a few podiums then he's pretty much a guaranteed spot at RBR in 2013.

Why? he signed a 2 years contract.. I'm sure Renault wouldn't accept a 1 year with an option. Basically they won't let Kimi use them as a stepping stone.. that's my personal view

I think you underestimate how much money Kimi has and how persuasive RBR and Renault are.

If the last two years of F1 have taught me anything, is that contracts can be ended at any time regardless of how long they were for.

Although I'm sure Kimi's management included a clause in their contract to avoid future problems, if Red Bull offers him a spot in 2013 and he wants to take it, there is no way Lotus wouldn't let him leave. If they say "no" they will get unhappy Kimi or he just leaves F1 again which is a lose-lose situation for Lotus.

And of course RBR would offer some compensation that would make Lotus happy to let him go.

If Ricciardo goes to Caterham, does that give him a worse chance of moving up to RBR than if he was with, say, STR?

The same since the move to Caterham would still be sponsored by Red Bull.

Kind of feel sorry for Williams now, they've been forgotten in an instance. It's a sad indictment of their current situation, that the only thing to drum up people's attention of them is a rumour linking the return of a former F1 champion. Not there actions on the race track.

I can honestly see them going the way of other once good/great British teams; BRM, Cooper, Tyrrell and Brabham.

McLaren are the only British team to consistently challenge for title.

when mika left i needed someone to fill the void for me, so i really liked kimi before he went to mclaren. After mika left i was such a huge fan of how he raced. When he left i looked to another young driver and that was vettel.

Going to be fun watching F1 next year, seeing vettel and button race each other and my old favorite kimi at it again.

2012 is a promosing year.

He'll do something Ayrton always planned on doing; driving for the Prancing Horse.

As a McLaren-man through and through, somehow that would be very cool and make me confused in which driver or what team I should be cheering on

I've never really supported teams, only drivers. When Alonso was on Renault I wanted him to win with Renault, now his on Ferrari I want him to win with Ferrari, it doesn't matter to me which team my favorite drivers race for as long as they are winning.

Brabham should come back, do the USF1 thing and only hire Australian drivers. Shit, Webber and Ricciardo would be epic.

Edit: What's with the whole Kimi/Finlandia vodka thing?
