Don't forget his stint in Minardi, and the Jaguar team was hardly a middle team never mind a top one

I'm not disputing Webber's skill or pedigree.

Isn't like your Vettel hate is better than the Hamilton thing.

but fun fact:

Vettel is a old german slang word for an women with bad personality, maybe you can use it

I don't hate Vettel though, the only reason I end up defending Hamilton so much is because 65% of the people in this thread seem to hate him for no justifiable reason ("He's a cunt" is not a justifiable reason).

I'm a fan of the sport, I support & defend all the drivers.

You know so much about me, im flattered.

Come on now lets not turn this into something personal, i used to watch F1 every weekend from the 95 season till 2002, stopped watching untill 2004, stopped and started watching it every weekend again since 09

So when Schumacher was winning and then when Vettel starting winning. You are German right?

Dude i haaaaaaaaaaaaaaated shumi i absolutely hated him, i was a hardcore hakinnen and raikonnen fan.
He was the reason i stopped watching after the 2002 season.

So i can understand why people hate vettel because he was dominate in the first half of the season.

Same. This is worse than a Hamilton bashing or Wax Free Vanilla trolling subtelty :(

See what you guys have done? For fucks sake.

This is the GAF CHAMPION. Where's the respect. He could ban you all if he wasn't so merciful.

It's fun to root for your own driver, but the weird internal rivalry with the RBR guys is weird. Mark is solid. He's always been faster than his team mates throughout his entire career until Vettel came along. This means Webber beat Coulthard, Heidfeld, and Nico Rosberg.

Vettel is faster than Webber.

The kid is fast. He had more on track passes last year than Webber and Kobayashi. Although Fernando is the best passer of the front runners from last year.

Do you have the stats or know where to get them ? Just curious.

I'm a Vettel fan myself and I believe he is not the best overtaker, but he certainly isn't the worst either. I'm pretty sure the RBR7 isnt perfect for overtaking due to its aerodynamic sensitivity. On top of that in Germany obviously they lacked the straight line pace. Good example of that was Hamilton's counter when he was overtaken by Webber. I wonder if this slow straight line speed was only down to the Renault engine or if they really gambled and went with a wet setup similiar to Mclaren in Canada.

That's not a good comparison. It's harder for Vettel, Hamilton, Webber and Alonso to make passes because they frequently have no one in front of them while Sutil is in amongst the wars.

Yeah but it shows that Vettel in fact overtakes other cars. I wish Castrol would be a little more transparent and list their data in more detail.

I could not find the other general racing topic, so let´s post it here as a tribute to last weeks race ;)

Mit dem Formel-Renner über die regennasse Nordschleife

It's a video from a driving instructor at the Nurburgring, driving a lap around the Ring in a formula car, wet tarmac and IMHO insane car control !
Nice, I love that Karussell drift :)

The funny thing is that was on Saturday about an hour after the F1 qualification and look how wet it is, and on Sunday the same thing happen, rain started an hour after the race, but nevertheless the F1 race was still very interesting.

Looking like its going to be really unsettled weather for the race this weekend.

Temps in the mid 20s with chance of thunderstorms all weekend.

Not that I know of. There are all sort of data being tracked, but not overtakes.

If 2011 can produce an exciting race at Hungary, I'll forgive Valencia.

Aye, could pretty much mean you are shit at qualifying, or make a lot of mistakes in the race.

I was just thinking about how the BBC could monetize their supreme F1 coverage and I think the best way would be for them to release a 20 disc Blu-ray set for like £100 at the end of the season with every race weekend (Sat and Sun only, forget FP) on one disc.

I think there would be a big market for 1080p F1 with the BBC's superior coverage. I would buy it, would any of you guys?

What about a paid stream for foreign watchers?

I expect that would mess with all kinds of international rights, but a Blu-ray wouldn't since they would only sell it in the UK. If other people decide to import it there is nothing the BBC can do about it.

Hell, if Amazon decided to put an import ban on it for US-GAF I would send it to you guys for the price of the set+shipping!

BBC would have to work out a deal with FOM(Bernie) first as there already is an official season review. But should there ever be a BBC blu-ray set I would definitely buy it, the Formula 1 coverage is the only high quality broadcast on BBC One in my opinion.

Idk,When I think of things that India needs to be building, the first thing that pops into my head isn't a racing circuit.

To be fair, it's a private organisation not the government.

Or at least, I thought that was the case.

To disregard BBC Nature‘s flagship content on BBC One is pure folly. Nothing in the world compares to their documentaries, nothing.

Webber scored points on his first ever GP with Minardi in 2002 season. He was 5th on his home race.

That was also the last season when the rules were about pushing development to the extreme end of the envelope delivering absolute performance.

Makes his achievement even more impressive compared to the bullet proof reliability videogame-with-all-the-assists on F1 we have today.

They're some of the most high quality broadcasters in nearly every field. To say they're not is simply foolish and/or ignorant.

It makes the license fee worth paying.

Thats racing...

But now I understand the hate for Schumacer in his time

Most people who hated Schumacher (like moi) did so because he was a dirty bitch that somehow got praised for it.

Senna is shit, marginally better than chandhok who is also shit. Heidfeld has nothing to worry about.

Haha...I forgot how hilariously blunt avaya can be.

who hates the ring ????????????????

Me, it's a snooze. It's fun to drive in a racing game due to how technical it is, but I don't ever remember it being a racing spectacle. Calling it Monaco Light is being kind.

Now the Austtrian A1 Ring, that track was the shit...would love to see that return to the F1 circuit one day, but I won't hold my breath.

Shaneus said:
Alonso definitely.

Edit: Perhaps it's also that Webber's had to go the hard yards through some pretty average teams (Minardi, Jaguar, Williams) to get to RBR, whereas the likes of Vettel and Hamilton have jumped almost straight away into top-tier.

Raikkonen was a late bloomer...he only had 23 car races on his resume (mostly in Formula Renault) in the two years prior to joining F1 with Sauber. Many in F1 didn't believe Raikkonen should've been granted a FIA license to drive in F1, but he managed to get it and proceeded to finish 6th in his first race. This, despite apparently being asleep a half hour before the race start.

Stories like that BTW, is why I'll always love Kimi...he's just such a different cat from everyone else. Funny as hell too. Sure wish he was in F1...watching WRC is a bit of a challenge with Speed Channel dropping it long ago.

The difference is that Senna isn't with us anymore.

Amazing performances are always drowned out by the poor performances.
