Steady? If he drives like this in the race he wont be touched. People underestimate just how good Button can drive when he is enjoying things. If he starts from pole (I still half expect RBR to produce a 1:35.0), he wont be holding anyone up.

He's very quick very he's on form. But this is qualifying AND LEWIS IS QUICKER!

Ok, what the HELL is going on?

Hamilton hits a 1:35.0? Webber a 1:35.2, and Button a 1:35.3? Vettel does a 1:35.1.

These cars are totally insane!

What a lap from Hamilton.

Some real pace from McLaren & the Mercedes engine in this heat and humidity.

Webber must have lost a bit of time during the last sector. He was faster than Hammy during the first two on Hammy's 1:35, yeah?

Vettel has to be stopped. Seriously, it's just annoying now.

Wow, just WOW.

Vettel, Hamilton, Webber and Button all pulled some epic times there. The rest of the cars are literally in a different league! Alonso is a second slower than Vettel and everyone else may as well not bother turning up.

Heidfeld a fantastic 6th, beating Massa to 7th and Petrov 8th. Rosberg 9th and Kobayashi 10th.

That was a great qualifying session, and the RBR/McLaren fight is going to be huge tomorrow. As Eddie has said, Ferrari are dumbstruck by the pace of the top two teams.

Stop It has it right.

The gulf between the RBR, McLaren and the rest is massive.
1 second a lap a lap quicker than the rest is a gigantic gap in F1 terms.

Alonso was looking very sad there watching the timing board.

It's good to see 4 cars in a league of their own this year and not just 2, with the only hope of interest coming from them making mistakes.

Should be a great race tomorrow. Hoping for rain!

They'd better not pull a three-stopper on Mark tomorrow... if so, I'll be pissed.

wasn't pirelli saying that most teams may have to do 3 or 4 stops tomorrow (apart from sauber maybe?) Who knows what the rain would bring though, if it comes.

Well, I just don't want him doing any more than necessary a la Melbourne.

Can say though, it should be a cracker. I want to see some toe-to-toe from the top four, none of this pulling ahead shit from Vettel.

Vettel you beast. See, this is why Webber ought to have won last season - look at the unstoppable beast this man has become.

Definitely, they were saying how much faster these tyres degrade. It's pretty evident after seeing the tracks midway in to practice.

I'm hoping Hamilton get a good start tomorrow and Button make another one of this 'pre-cog' level tyre calls to reign in the Redbulls. Not sure if i want rain, it looks like McLaren might be able to match Redbull in a straight fight this year.

Preeeetty sure Alonso has a championship or two under his belt.

The Mclaren is just a few tenths slower, just enough for Hamilton to compensate with his talent. I still think Mclaren will win it tomorrow, especially if no rain. It's been a LONG time since we've seen RBR drivers under real pressure, and they may have to overtake to win races now.

It's about time Hamilton gets a dominant car! Future looks bright.

Damage limitation indeed. 5th was the best realistic result for Alonso, it is just a shame Massa couldn't lock out the third row. Mclaren splitting the Red Bulls is good news, as long as they keep taking points of each other Ferrari still have a chance when we get to Turkey.

He has always had cars that at worst were 3rd fastest. His first season was in a car that would have won the Constructor's Championship.

one might argue that both cars are equal and the difference between the 4 drivers is an actual representation of their skill.

he had a dominant car in the past - he just confused the gravel trap at the pit lane entry in china for a parking spot.

I'm really disappointed by Ferrari's performance.

Complete lack of front end grip, it is really strange why Ferrari have gone backwards since winter testing because Barcelona is a good test track and Ferrari have a good wind tunnel which they. FP1 and FP2 were used to run aero tests to find out more about the problem but I am very confident that by Turkey with the amount of money and time Ferrari spend on their wind tunnel that they will fix the problem.
