When I saw him jumping out I just laughed for some reason it reminded me of speed.

Because I haven't owned an F1 game since the PS1 days do you guys think it would be worth me getting F1 2010 or just wait till 2011?

If perex didnt overtake under the yellow flag i would've have done better this week.

EDIT: but i got my DNF bet correct this week, wooo!

Can't wait for the calendar for next year to be finalized. If Austin hotels are all booked or overpriced ill just drive 2 hours and find a cheap hotel :( just need the date pinned down. The late date would rock, but I guess that new schedule wasn't going over well with the teams.

I cant believe a safety car didn't come out far that. There was smoke everywhere!

+ when they were wheeling back up the pits they were blocking people

Why they didn't bring the SC out I have no idea. Then they started wheeling the dam thing backwards into the pit exit. Vettel basically drifted around it when he pitted.

I haven't watched the race yet, but this pit feature is the perfect example of why I love the BBC coverage.

I also love seeing Jenson and Hamilton together, it's hard to imagine a better team.

Didn't watch, seems like it might've been a good race going by the results and comments here, though. Anything special happen with Webber or did he just kind of trundle along?

Yep. Vettel was flying out of the pits, I thought he would smash into the wreck. And they could have towed it forwards through the grass, there was an armco opening just a little bit forward.

Good race overall. Very tense, yet all the drivers were very cool through the opening stint with all the rear ends slipping.

Webber had a solid race, generally kept pace with the leaders. Just not fast enough in the end when it mattered.

Likely to be a compressed gas canister.

Seems that way.

I don't know what went bang, but Eric Boulier has put the blame entirely on Heidfeld. Apparently he was still hitting the rev limiter while in the pits, which took longer than usual (not sure why), so something overheated and went pop.

Seems very dubious to me (we would have heard the car reving that much, surely?) but regardless Boulier shouldn't be speaking like that about one of his drivers. Coming a few days after he said in public his disappointment over Heidfeld, I think the bearded German is going to be without a seat sooner than we think.

He needed the guy from F1 2010 to tell him the engine was getting hot.

That's just wrong. Also, no sane person would have a car at 18k RPM in neutral and think it's a good idea, let alone someone that's done how many hundred pit stops? At any rate, it's ridiculous to speak about your driver like that. What the shit.

Indeed. In fact, I think he's already driven his last race for Renault.

Grosjean needs 13 more points in GP2 to guarantee him the championship, he can do that at Spa in 4 weeks. After that I'd be surprised if he didn't replace Nick.

I have 22m to spend on F1 race manager.

What shall I do...
1. Stop rubbing it in!

2. Buy McLaren engine & or chassis.

They seem to be on a large upward swing in form and the next 2 races are usually very strong for them.

I havent been keeping too up to date with the Sky/BBC deal since it was first announced, so this may be well known by the rest of you.
But just read on twitter that it has been confirmed the BBC & Sky will share commentators.

So thats either good news that they could keep Brundle & Coulthard or else bad news that both BBC & Sky will use new crappy commentators

And then they race like their lives depend on it on the track. McLaren are so awesome. <3

What a stunner of a race. MAYBE the best of the season. I feel like I'm saying that about a lot of races this year. I don't give a fuck that Vettel is running away with the season, this is the best F1 season I've ever watched.

It pains me that Lewis had to do that drive through, but I agree with it. Looked REALLY dangerous. I know he was eager to get back on it, but you can't spin around like that. Poor judgement.
Edit: Nice to see he apologises for it, though.

Seeing Button that happy after the race is great.

Heidfeld's car exploding was crazy. Brave marshalls. Should've been a safety car, I think.

Not in the slightest.

If Heiki can stop his car on the pit straight whilst on fire in Singapore and not have a safety car then there's no reason why todays race should have.

I can't remember that too well, but just watching the marshalls on the side of the road, car still on fire a bit, bits of debris in the pit exit and cars flying past... looked dangerous.

Everyone should know I'm always against the sport being too cautious, but that was one of those moments which struck me as dangerous.

Aside from the fact that they proved they couldn't get the car out of the way without potentially causing a crash.

Edit 1 - What's a "Shoop da woop"?
Edit 2 - Google saves all... ignore that question. :)

Everybody needs to watch the BBC forum this week. It was great seeing Jenson posing for pictures etc. Really made me smile.

Do any of these F1 torrent sites you guys use have complete seasons? I missed 2009 and I'd really like to watch it in full. TheBox only has a handful of the races still active, so I'd appreciate a link/invite if somebody could hook me up :)

Edit: Nevermind, Piranha has them all in one form or another. Can't wait to watch it ^_^

Is Piranha a torrent site? Are they in HD? I downloaded China in 720p and I don't think I could watch a race in standard def.

I'm guessing that this one is worth getting too?

Compared to this year they're really not all that interesting. And you'll have the incredible Legard commentary.

thebox has hd stuff up the fastest. Most other torrent sites just steal their encodes or wait for vippe to post his encodes to newsgroups.

Just realised that Vettel could finish third in the remaining races and still win the championship even if Webber won every race.
Fuuuuuu.gif

Guess we have to hope/pray for some severe bad luck to befall Vettel. Hopefully nothing with the car design that fucks Webber over as well.
