I think that demo car is now on display at my local Vodafone building (in the south of the Netherlands). Maybe I will try to get some pictures soon. First question I asked myself after seeing the car was how tight the security would be... :lol

Hey, we can race. I'll be getting it on the PS3 too!dubc35 said:Nice work! I'll be getting the game next week, maybe not on launch day though.....and on ps3, my pc won't be able to run it

The F2004 was restrained because of the rule changes that came into effect that year. Plus, the F2002 won at Spa, something the F2004 failed to do.

Sporting director. It's definitely a substantial step down from technical director, but there's probably a good chance that McLaren hired him with the intention of promoting him through the organization if things go well.Nolan. said:I think if Sam Michaels is heading to Mclaren his role probably won't be as pronounced as it was at Williams, interesting choice though.

I thought a manufacturer can only supply three teams?Leunam said:Renault looking to supply more teams. Story says Williams and HRT are looking for engine deals.

ANDY_098 said:The 2014 regs will bring in a few more manufacturers I'd imagine. The small turbocharged V6s are far more road relevant than the current V8s even without all the hybrid technology, plus there is no point any new manufactures getting involved at the moment if the new regs are only a short time away.

Eddie's right, F1 is extremely artificial right now. It's downright farcical and goes against the very spirit of racing.itsgreen said:Brilliant last word by Ted Kravitz: http://www.dumpert.nl/mediabase/1710651/9b070ca4/eddie_irvine_over_de_f1_van_tegenwoordig.html

The F1 zeitgeist.Ark said:I can agree in terms of DRS, but otherwise I'm afraid I disagree.
Formula 1 is a representation of the times. The proof, is in the pudding.
I don't consider the Pirelli tyres when debating the actual racing, because they're a variable that could change at any time (otherwise it wouldn't be a variable, oh derp).
Edmond Dantès said:The F1 zeitgeist.
Guess I'm just feeling nostalgic towards the other eras of F1, where wheel-to-wheel racing without ancillary aids was the norm.
The double, triple deck diffuser ban has helped, but what would really increase the likelihood of overtaking and closer racing would be a dramatic reduction of aerodynamic reliance. Right now I'd say the ratio is 65% aero/35% drivetrain. To balance this out I'd reduce the front wing to greater degree than planned or get rid of it altogether (the sponsors wouldn't be particularly fond of that though) increase the rear tyre size and ban bargeboards altogether and introduce venturi tunnels.Ark said:Part of the reason we don't have that any more is a fault of the actual cars themselves.
We saw last year at Abu-Dhabi what happens when an F1 car is stuck in the dirty air of a slower car.

dubc35 said:I'd much rather have KERS and DRS as it is now than any of the last several years that I have watched or partially followed F1. From my limited memory it used to just be about qualifying then in maybe 1 or 2 corners you could out brake someone to pass. Other than that it was about pit stops. I'd rather watch aided racing than who can out pit the others.
Along the same lines I'm finally getting around to reading some old magazines I have had. I finished an old copy of Racecar Engineering on a flight earlier in the week. The end editorial suggested that DRS should be available at all times. I kind of agree. Maybe if they could reduce its impact a bit but it would make for some exciting racing. KERS is always available, why not DRS?
Hmm, I was going to post a scan of the page with the article but it doesn't look like that's allowed here per TOS.
