Singapore is not in the Middle East =PArk said:Sinagpore is essentially the Monaco of the Middle-East as far as F1 is concerned. All the business takes place in Singapore and the races themselves are actually fairly interesting imo.

DRS is the devil and needs to go away.Templar Wizard said:its the modern argument should F1 cars be like Dragsters on the straights and have hugely reduced covering speed, or be generally fast everywhere.
each choice has its own limitations.
DRS puts a situational spin on it all. DRS needs to be continually tweaked to put the following car in a position where they can try and pass (ie negate the aero flow), not be a push to pass. we have had it this year where it SEEMED to be too easy and where it seemed to be perfect.
The FIA are still testing it out.
I believe it will be less PTP next year, once the FIA have more data.
I disagree, I find the races have been equally as boring in both locations.SunhiLegend said:What!? Singapore is nothing like Valencia. All the races at Singapore have been exciting to watch, last year was awesome. Valencia's just plain boring.

I wonder if Flavio will ever return to F1 and in what capacity.

There were rumours of Ferrari wanting to replace Domenicali with Flav. Domenicali's in a pretty precarious position right now with Ferrari going another year without a title, so you never know.Ark said:As much chance as Piquet Jr has, probably.

Just imagine Briatore as the team principal of Ferrari. I wonder how Fernando thinks about that.ANDY_098 said:He currently manages Mark Webber. I doubt he'd be interested in another team principal role though, or for that matter if anyone would want to hire him.
Good season that. It was basically Kimi v Alonso, with Michael on the periphery.dubc35 said:Wow, just started watching the 2005 season. The team roundup before the Australian GP was a mind F. So much has changed in six years!

TC used to sound equally as shitty coming out of corners. Enough with the ignition wizardry, please! Even if it is very clever...Deadman said:
As a Kimi fan that season was just a huge heartbreak. He could've easily had two more titles if McLaren (and more importantly Mercedes) had gotten their shit together during his time there.Edmond Dantès said:Good season that. It was basically Kimi v Alonso, with Michael on the periphery.

I was thinking the same thing at the end. I enjoy having Michael around to laugh at his hardships, but I hate it when he messes with race results.SunhiLegend said:Damn that was close another lap and Hamilton would surely have had taken Alonso
Lewis was clearly hitting the rev limiter for roughly 1000 feet going into turn one. It's a little shocking that Mclaren didn't give him a taller 7th gear.Juicy Bob said:Lewis' problem today was his lack of top speed that he suffered from his 7th Gear ratio that was too short.

Raikkonen Is Negotiating with Williams For 2012!
Williams is preparing a surprise move for the 2012 F1 season. According to information revealed by Finnish television channel MTV3, former World Champion Kimi Raikkonen has visited the headquarters of the British team last week.
The information was confirmed by a team spokesman, who declined to give details about the visit. "It was a private visit, therefore we have no comment to make," said a spokesman for the Williams team .
The international press has speculated for some time now that Williams is trying to find a replacement for veteran Rubens Barrichello and the name being circulated so far had been Adrian Sutil of Force India.
However Raikkonen, whose talent lead to a world title with Ferrari in 2007, would be a much better choice for Frank Williams' team. The only uncertainty would be represented by the Finn's high wage claims, but he could lure important sponsors to the team contributing to the former world champions relatively modest budget.
Reports first emerged in the Finnish press, with Räikkönen expected to have been viewing the Williams-built Jaguar C-X75 supercar as opposed to any F1-related talks.

We're winners at life, don't need to worry about winning in sport... that's just for funArk said:Casey Stoner sets record pace in Aragon MotoGP qualifying.
It's not F1, but this thread needs some life.
It's also proof that Australians do possess the ability to actually win tournaments/championships.
Yes, that was a slight dig at Webber and Oz for losing to Ireland last night
Future Spec for F1 Car
1. A racing car has only ONE objective: to WIN motor races. If it does not do this it is nothing but a waste of time, money, and effort.
This may sound obvious but remember it does not matter how clever it is, or how inexpensive, or how easy to maintain, or even how safe, if it does not consistantly win it is NOTHING!
2. Having established this what do we have to do to make it win:
(i) Simply stated it must firstly be capable of lapping a racing circuit quicker than any other car, with the least possible skill from the driver, and doing it long enough to finish the race.
(ii) After this, and only after this, and with absolutely no compromising of objective (2)(i) one has to consider how expensive it is, how simple, how safe, & how easy to maintain, etc. NONE of these aspects must detract one iota from (2)(i). Good enough is just NOT good enough to win and keep winning.
Casey's surpassed Vale as the fastest man in MotoGP. He did wonders at Ducati riding the Desmosedici's. Only the other two 'aliens' (Lorenzo and Pedrosa) can match right him now and maybe Ben Spies as he continues to progress.Ark said:Casey Stoner sets record pace in Aragon MotoGP qualifying.

He doesn't get nearly enough the coverage he should in the media down here. I guarantee you that any win of his would be lucky to get a few paragraphs and a photo a few pages from the back of the newspaper.Edmond Dantès said:Casey's surpassed Vale as the fastest man in MotoGP. One of his best seasons, but not as dominant or consistent as Vettel. He's certainly proving his detractors wrong though; those who thought he could only win on a Ducati.Shaneus said:He doesn't get nearly enough the coverage he should in the media down here. I don't pay enough attention to the MotoGP. Would it be safe to say that this year he's as consistent as Vettel in F1?
