Alonso really is great since the second half of last season. Also, it seems like Ferrari is getting their shot together, pitstops for example were much tighter in Monza then a few races ago.

Can't possibly be true any more, given the limited budgets...

...though I'm sure Ferrari finds ways to completely ignore the rules as usual.

i think there has to be someway to work the actual salary numbers. Alonso gets more than 50% of the grid put together, but that isnt ratio'd to the other team members.
So there is some movement.

@Megateto, alas I am not Spanish, but an exiled Irishman :(

@Dilly. fucking A, the crew where in the high 4s to low 5s in the first half, now they are have it in the variable 3s

Prime tire is killing Alonso and he cant do anything about it, given the Cliff on the options.
he is king of the road for the first 2 stints then biting his nails for the Prime-countdown.

Hopefully next year with the regulations not changing much we see a more even playing field between the top teams. I still expect Red Bull to be slightly faster due to Newey but Ferrari and Mclaren should be within a couple of tenths or faster, they can't have a non competitive car three years in a row in the first half of the season. And if its a straight battle between the top guys I fully expect Alonso to lead the championship. His outperformed the car almost every race since the second half of last year, he has a team structured purely around him to make sure all the team strategys favours him and he gets all the updates first, his in arguably the best form of his career, his has amazing starts and because his one of my all time favourite drivers.

Red Bull and Mclaren will have two drivers both going for the championship at the start of the season which in my opinion is not an advantage for the teams. Vettels only competition this year in terms of car performance is his team mate and Webber has been poor this season in the same car, no wins, which relieves all the pressure from Vettel. When Hamilton won the championship he had Kovalainen as his team mate and Button had Barrichello, Alonso would not have been leading the championship last year had Massa not let him pass or had the pace to out perform Alonso on more than one occasion. It would have been different this year if Webber was winning races in the first half seeing as he had the same car, although Vettel has been exceptional this season.

I could be completley wrong and Ferrari might still be slow the first half of next season and Hamilton could be winning most of the races, we'll just have to wait and see how 2011 unfolds.

The RRA has nothing to do with driver salaries.

I keep forgetting about how much next year will suck compared to this year. :(

There better be Sky feeds out there.

you are sure it will suck? I think you should just wait and see. I think Sky will throw big money at to ensure viewer numbers and the subscription. i believe they will have a level of interaction that will blow the BBC away.

hopefully keeping that 'tasty' loser Jake away from their team.

It will suck because I along with most people will not be prepared to pay Murdoch any money.

But having said that the BBC's coverage is top notch, and I do doubt they'll be able to exceed it.

I don't have Sky and can't afford to subscribe to a Sky Sports HD package. Its fucking bullshit for people like me, how the fuck will I be able to watch half the season other than watching it on some crappy stream I have to look for on the internet which will most likely freeze or switch off a million times while watcing the race.

Pretty much.

I really do hope F1 being on Sky bites them in the arse, but it wont.

Bernie should've worked out a deal with the TV companies to have an official FOM online streaming subscription service. Just like MotoGP and NASCAR have been doing for, you know, ALMOST A FUCKING DECADE NOW!

Do you have fast internet/use torrents?

Thebox.bz will be your friend if so for F1 in HD.

Maybe I overreacted. I do have fast internet but I want to watch the races live. I don't want to have to download them and then watch them at a later time. I won't be able to stop myself from checking the results and then its kills off some of the enjoyment of watching the race. I just hope we get some sort of official live feed of the race by the time 2011 comes along.

There was a way I used to watch the BBC coverage live when I was in Australia involving a specially developed program which included its own Proxy. It worked brilliantly. Let's just say I'm fairly confident something like that will be available for Sky by the time the cars are on the grid in Melbourne.

Your proxy merely delivered a free-to-view BBC stream through your filtered IP.

The Sky Player stream is inaccessible due to a paywall rather than any regional IP filtering. No amount of internet cleverness is going to get you free access to Sky Player directly.

As I'm watching the 2009 season review I got thinking as to what is the perfectly aerodynamic car in F1?

The F2004 or the MP4-4. Both from different eras, both were the class of their generation.

Oh. I thought NASCAR had a live video 'Trackpass' thing or something. Last time I checked was years ago, mind. Never mind. My point still stands.

Would've been funny if the cable snapped and the microphone hit Vettel's car.

Webber has number 10 on his racing overal, i think its from 2008 when coulthard was in his team with number 9.

Welcome to the life of an American F1 fan.

I don't have HD so when I wait to torrent it I don't find it too hard to avoid results. I avoid the BBC and this thread and then within 3-4 hours of the race ending I'm watching it.

Not too bad. Worth it for HD!

With current tech those wide cars would seriously mess up the air flow for following cars, causing distance between cars to increase and races to get boring again.
There is always clever engineering to be had :D

How was it that McLaren were numbered 22 and 23 on their car in the 2008 season?

Also, what do you guys think of Yas Marina? I know a lot of drivers praise it but I want to know what the fans do.
