Kobayashi isn't going to play by Ferrari's stupid rules so I don't think that's likely.

What rules, exactly?

1)Get in a better car than you have now
2)Drive it quickly around a track

I'm fully expecting "3)move over for alonso when asked" as a reply, but would that really happen if he was pulling away from him down the track? Everyone loves the "fernando is faster than you" gag mine, but the simple fact is, he was.

Note, I think team orders are pish, but I don't think we would have seen that overtake happen if Massa was doing a Vettel and disappearing down the track.

I'm looking forward to this weekend's race unfortunately I probably won't be able to watch it until Monday (out of town). Wow, that DRS zone is huge! I'm looking forward to seeing what new upgrades McLaren brings as well.

Circuit map: DRS zone Barcelona

The FIA has officially unveiled the full details of the Drag Reduction System for the Barcelona Grand Prix. Drivers will be able to use the system after the start-finish line until they brake for the first corner. The area where the system works is 830m long. The detection area will be after the last chicane but before the New Holland corner.

The detection area and activation area are only relevant in the race. During the practice qualifying and session drivers are free to use DRS wherever they want. If it rains they can't use the system.

Am I the only one who finds that odd, given all the talk that DRS overtaking was too easy in the last race.
DRS zone in Turkey was placed on the fastest part of the track, top speeds were already 300+ km/h before they reached DRS activation zone. DRS effect is much greater at higher speeds.

In addition to what DrM said, Catalunya is notorious for having very little overtaking. The larger DRS zone makes more sense here than at Turkey.

Am I totally wrong or didn't they already try that? Who was it that had a low exhaust like that, Toro Rosso? Theirs didn't come out as far from the body work.

Seems to me like the run into 10 would've been the better spot for DRS. It's a good overtaking spot that requires some setup in the first half of the lap to get into position. Just having it at the front straight into turn 1 may be too easy.

Shit I'm screwed. I didn't log in to answer the bonus question and I'm only 300k short to get into a RBR chassis without dumping something that will probably cost me more than 30 points.

Mclaren testing new stuff today, so we won't get fast times from them
Don't read too much into our times this morning - as I mentioned, this is a comprehensive test programme for us. We're not going for times.

Yeah he a second slower so far. Lets see what happens later today when real times are set.
Apparently he didn't have access to KERS in that session. Guess that explains some of the difference.

Yay! Got back in time for second practice.

First practice results don't look too promising, at all..

EDIT: Yay! Chandhok(sp) <3

Doesn't help, as the original video is 4:3 when it should be 16:9, and the window in which the video plays, is also 4:3.

So...

exactfit: 4:3
none: 4:3
uniform: 4:3
fill: 4:3

I'm not on a 16:9 monitor, so the same applies when watching it fullscreen.

Impossible to read long run times, because traffic is messing them up - almost 4 seconds deviation.
