He needs something to shake his confidence. Points-wise, one DNF won't make a difference. But it'll throw him.

That's why I'm hoping for one, anyway.

Nothing is going to shake his confidence, if a crash in Practice 3 in Turkey didn't, then nothing will.

He had more than his fair share of crashes last year, he's in a totally different form now.

He needs to be in a car that is not the fastest. Then we will truly see what he is made of.

I think he'll end up getting a podium this season if he's in the right place at the right time.

I've been saying that every race since last year, I've almost given up hope on it now.

Interesting that so many people are not faster in FP3...

We saw that when he was at STR. He was quick, but not so flash in traffic. I think he is faster now, but no better in traffic.

Changed my fantasy team, was going to go with Renault/Sauber but the Heidfeld car catching fire means I've changed to Mercedes/Force India.

Wish I had more money though, still way off the top team prices.

Its rumoured that one of the teams (HRT) could protest the result of the race tomorrow on the basis that the off-throttle exhaust is illegal, hence why Virgin & Force India have also reverted to their original setups.

Charlie Whiting seems to think there's something to it...
"It is always a possibility," Whiting replied when asked about the possibility of protests. "I have made that clear to the teams that it could happen and then we will take it to the stewards in the normal way.

"We have always maintained in all of our technical directives that we have sent for many years now that this is merely the opinion of the technical department. Anyone is free to challenge it in front of the stewards, it doesn't happen very often but it has happened in the past. As you know with the brakes in Brazil, in 1998."

If they protest, I honestly don't mind. I'd like to see it banned tbh.

Totally forgot the pre-race show started at 12, only missed half of it.

Williams are seriously irritating this season and HRT should be kicked out if they go through with that protesting stuff.

Not HRT, probably crybabies at Williams, they protest for almost everything. There are some rumblings that they protested for this most recent case with Ferrari's RW

i'll bet on williams (thou who knows, maybe with all the personal changes they won't be such big crybabies anymore)

picking barrichello over hulk still hurts. what a garbage decision

edit: and yeah. hrt is a joke, they shouldn't have any say in anything. make the car go inside 107% and then maybe you get a vote. idiots

Yeah, road racing is awesome. :D

There was a massive crash in practice the other day, Easton got fucked up big style - broken pelvis, two broken legs, perforated bowel and broken fingers, I hope he pulls through.

Another race for 3rd place :(

Even DRS won't help this from being a shit race. Jerez for Catalunya needs to happen.

Yeah, he gave them an impossible pole position and they toss him out for a guy who has some oil dollars.

And now this again.

Well then, episode 5 of the Sebastian Vettel show (Once known as qualifying) at the Cataluna GP. The RBR's again look to be dominant, and only a fool (And Mark Webber) would bet against Vettel scoring 5/5 poles this season so far.

The only question mark is the controversy over the engine mapping systems exploiting the new exhaust systems a bit too much, but I expect them to be banned between now and Monaco, but no action to be taken for this race.

Also, Heidfeld decided he wanted to be the hottest driver on the grid, that Renault really did turn into a bit of a fireball! I hope he gets out there ok for Quali.

Ones to watch? Mercedes, and in my view, Sauber. Kobayashi seems to be up there pushing for a top 10 place in the practice sessions and I hope that after his heroic drive in Turkey, that he starts with a decent grid slot tomorrow.

dunno, can't blame them too much.
they clearly needed the Marnaldo money, and Rubes vs. Hulk is more of a philosophy question regarding car dev i guess, especially with the other driver being a total rookie

Has anyone noticed that Kovalainen is in Q2? Barrichello is out! That's a turn up for the books!

Apparent gearbox issues for Barrichello, but Lotus wont care.

Total brain fade or they were scared to be knocked out
Yeah. The thing is, if they risk re-using those used softs for Q2 there would be in massive danger of getting knocked out too, so they must burn a new set to get to Q3.

Both Mercedes and Ferrari are now in big trouble. I wonder if either of the teams will just bail out of Q3, even if they get through, just to save a set of tyres?
