Rob Smedley seems so happy. I hope both of them can do better next year. Felipe was horrible at the start of the season.

Massa seems quite happy as well. His role was almost as difficult as Vettel's or Alonso's in the championship race, he must have been on the radio a lot.

Yeah he was talking about how he had to push one minute only to be told to slow down in a different part of the race.

Man alonso looks very very disapointed. Those eyes.

Rob is a legend, you can see he and Massa are proper friends.

Rob's definitely a legend. He brought us the most overused gif of last year.

Everyone wanted him gone during the season and I still do, to be honest, but it's nice to see that he can finally support Alonso as he should.

Why do you want him gone? He has been consistently out performing Alonso lately, clearly he isn't the same driver as he was last year or early this year.

Congrats Button on a fantastic race. Smooth and steady through rain and shine.

Congrats Vettel for tempering his normally aggressive drive style, and showing maturity to win a championship.

Another excellent year for F1, and certainly an end of the season that thrilled and delivered in spades.

I already can't wait for the season to start again on March 17th. Although here's something GAF does not know yet, but I want to share: we are expecting twins that same weekend! So when I said "I can't wait until March", she said, "hmm, you mean the kids right?"

Fun fact:

After finishing a lap down in todays race Kimi Raikkonen is only 1 lap short of completing every single lap this year.

Pretty impressive for his first year back and quite a contrast to his team mate.

Alonso would've deserved to be the champ more because of the inferior car, but what can you do.

Hulk & Hamilton was a racing accident. How the hell was Hulk supposed to know he'd lose traction?

The forum is over.

Jake got a Red Bull shower as thank you from Eddie.
Eddie didn't get the Vettel interview, because he is gone and then got two kisses from Vettel's PR girl Britta.

Awww, they prepared another Vettel montage for him and they couldn't show it. :(

Is he the only driver to finish every race? (It seems so glancing over the results).

He got points in 19 races, Alonso, 18, Vettel 17.

His battle with Kimi today almost made me cry. Skill, aggressiveness and fairness at the top level demonstrated in those few seconds. He will surely be missed, I just wish he had a more competitive car. Goodbye Michael, thank you for being the driver I loved to hate, and thank you for being born in our lifetime which allowed us to witness a living legend.

Back to the race. I was disgusted by how all the drivers and teams were against poor Vettel, can't help but think that even the FiA was trying to beat him, luck was against him, but still he prevailed. He's not a driver I would normally root for, but seeing how everyone was against him, I really wanted him to shut everyone up and earn it, which he did.

Alonso kept fucking up, but it doesn't matter. I'm happy he didn't get it, its karma, he might get it when he fairly fights his teammate and earn the points he get instead of demanding preferential treatment. As in 2010 when most pundits said that if he wins his championship will be tainted by "Alonso is faster than you" incident.

I'm very satisfied, everything I was hopping for happened. Vettel won, Kimi finished in the points again, he kept the 3rd position in the WDC battle, and he entertained us big time in the race. What a massive LOL moment it was, I just hope we have a GIF for it

Really enjoyed following this season with all of you guys GAF1, you guys are the best, except few annoying ones who are on my ignore list lol

Still can't believe just how insane today's race was. My heart could barely take it.

Not wanting to be a downer on the thread but today was a particularly hard day for me. My mother passed away from cancer earlier on in the year and this would obviously be the last season of Formula 1 that I would ever get to watch (in part) with her. I don't know if any of the thread remember but I had to make some special arrangements so that we could watch the race together on my wedding day in May this year. :) We were supposed to go to her first ever F1 race in Silverstone, but when we made the arrangement we had no idea she had cancer and by the time the race came around she didn't have long left.

She was a huge Alonso fan and as a Vettel fan I felt pretty much torn apart today. I guess it's as close as it could have been, but frankly I would have been OK with it going either way, maybe a little happier even with an Alonso win. I still remember how upset she was when Vettel won in 2010 and I find myself looking back with mixed emotions.

I was at her house today, watching in her room where we always used to watch the races together. I'd like to think she'd have enjoyed the race (it would have stressed her out massively!), but I know for sure she wouldn't have enjoyed the result. I can picture her getting stroppy about it like some of the posters here. :)

:'(

Still, I would never have become an F1 fan were it not for her, so I'll always have that.

That's heartbreaking Psychotext, I'm really sorry for your loss.

Let's dedicate this epic season finale to your mother may she R.I.P.

Fucking hell what a race. Congrats to Vettel, he totally deserved it. Not even mad.

I am mad at Ferrari though for not developing the car enough. Even Force India caught up with them in the end. Considering that Alonso did a superb job and I hope that Ferrari get their shit together next year.

Brilliant race for Hulkenberg and Massa. Seeing Alonso sad and Massa all teary up there broke my fucking heart.

So happy for Schumacher that he is leaving. Those miserable last three years were painful to watch. At the same time sad for Hamilton that he is going to that shitty team. I hated Hamilton the last couple of years but he is a cool guy.

Overall, what a brilliant season. Kimi Raikkonen on 3, who would have thought? Kimi ist just brilliant he provided the lols this race (how the fuck did he get so lost? hahaha).

Oh well, onto the next season.

Shit Psychotext, I remember you posting about your mother earlier in the year. Despite the end result, I'm sure she would've been rapt with the effort Alonso put in this year and that it was an exciting season in general :)

Hope you're doing as well as you can, man.

This is beautiful, man. May God bless her soul and her son.
