For what it's worth I really don't think it's that simple. I think you need an entire team of specialists to get it right, it's just that the media loves to point at one person and say they're the maestro.

Yeah it's not that simple, but most in F1 are the best of the best, it takes the extraordinary talent to elevate a team

That's quite a ridiculous assertion.

We see it time and time again in F1. The engineers, mechanics, drivers are the very best of the best and often there's a missing piece of the puzzle that pulls all of the available talents together and galvanizes everyone around. It usually is an extraordinary person higher up allowed to put his vision into practice. In no way am I saying one man makes an entire team, but one man can spark the rest of the team to great heights.

Vettel hit the wall in ROC and lost to grosjean. Pretty funny.

Semi finals are
Coulthard vs Kristensen
and
Grosjean vs Schumacher.

Fair play, he did really well. Odd how neither Schumacher nor Vettel seem to perform nearly as well on the Sunday (comparing lap times and whatnot).

Got myself a pretty badass belt buckle from Twitter for free (first one to reply to a tweet by the Finnish F1 commentator.)

He has the pace. If he can control his crashing he could do well next year.

Sad the Kimi/Kamui combo is no longer possible, as slim as it was in the first place.

ZOMG KK UPDATE

Thank you based Google Translate

Edit: he did it in English too:

To All the fans,

Thank you for the big support. I am very appreciated that many of you have donated and trying to make donation.

I must mention this that since the donation started, it has become quite big news in Japan. And because of your big support, it gave huge influences to some of Japanese companies and I started receiving good support from them.

And I was in the position to bring a budget of 8 million Euro at least. If you could imagine the time I had, it was overwhelming reaction and it shows there still is a great potential from Japanese companies.

Unfortunately, the time was still short and I am not able to secure the seat with competitive F1 team for 2013. I have to admit that it is very sad and feel sorry for fans and Japanese companies who supported me. But I am still confident to make it happen in 2014.

I would like to stop the donation for now and while I will save all the money for 2014, I start to look what is the best option for 2013 and also 2014. My main priority is to secure the competitive F1 seat in 2014.

I have no interests to race any other categories.

I will make an announcement as soon as I make a decision for 2013.

So, please wait and really looking forward your support for coming year, too.

All the best,

KAMUI KOBAYASHI

Would a competitive team take a punt on this mediocre driver who has been inactive for a year but comes with a 6 million euro kitty?

Krazy K is done.

Although I don't like to say it, I would have to agree.
Our only hope is some major Japanese company sponsors him & brings some serious cash in for years to come

When are Honda coming back? :p

:(

Yeah, not great news for KK. I guess it's safe to assume though, that if there's no team to take HRT's spot for 2013 then KK could be a good frontrunner for a new 2014 team and the new specs.

I'd even hazard a guess that anyone would be kind of stupid to take on a new team license next year with only 12 months before basically a whole new car needs to be designed. Best to get the jump on everyone else.
