She's had vocal rough patches around the My December era, but other than that her voice was immaculate last decade. Only Beyonce comes close, imo.

If you think that the point of my Tiny Tim Swift shade was that Carly is the more popular artist off of one single then you misunderstood me. As you pointed out, it would be entirely idiotic to claim that Carly has accomplished more overall when she really has just this one single against Swifts multiple albums and millions of album sales.
As I said yesterday, and usually when Swift comes up, hers is a success that largely mirrors a lot of other Country acts - i.e. explosive success that stays mostly confined to the US. That may not always be the case (especially since she seems to be going in a more Pop direction for her next album), but as of now it certainly is. Not to mention that, for all of her success, only two of her six singles from her last album charted in the top ten, nor did any of them have much of an international presence.
Carly Rae Jepsen, on the other hand, has a single to her name that has gone #1 in 18 Countries. Now of course that one single could be a fluke and Carly could end up the biggest one-hit-wonder of our time, but that remains to be seen. As of now, Carly has done more to gain an international footprint with one single than Taylor Swift has managed.
Considering all of this, what is my point? That, should Carly Rae Jepsen persevere beyond "Call Me Maybe" she is set up to have more international relevance than Taylor Swift. Yes, this is a prediction and it involves a pretty big IF with Carly not becoming a one-hit-wonder, but nonetheless it is a fair prediction to make based on a logical reading of the receipts as they stand today.
And the only reason that I brought any of this up was to counter the suggestion that Taylor Swift had it in her to render Carly Rae Jepsen obsolete. She doesn't (not when she doesn't even chart in half the countries Carly is now smashing in). These two artists, despite being pretty white girls who make bubblegum music, are on TWO DIFFERENT TRACKS. That last bit is my ultimate point on the matter.

Fun Fact: I wrote a review on Burlesque for the school paper. High Marks all around, I wish I could find it to show yall, it was when it premiered too. I still watch it religiously on Blu Ray and listen to the OST that certainly counts as an Xtina album
