The mainstream doesn't care about videogame awards. I don't think they care especially for Grammy's and Oscar's either, it's just a way for industry people to pat themselves in the back and get some drinks in.For me? No. For the Industry? Yes...

The show would be like 4 hours then which isn't feasible. The issue at the end is that funding is from advertisers, hence the format.Geoff's TGA isn't about the awards. It's about selling airtime for trailers and ads. The awards themselves get pathetically little airtime. If it were to actually put the people who make games ahead of the advertising I think it would be way more valuable. I get that the money to produce the show has to come from somewhere, but he needs to find a better way to handle the awards part so that it doesn't seem like an afterthought.
